I thought the FCC determined that even campus ISP's had to allow you to use whatever you wanted in terms of routers and whatnot...


I suppose the fine print in their decisions was "unless it interferes with the ability of the ISP to run their network" which it seems they're claiming routers, switches, and hubs bring down the network.

duke had a student that was - and duke hospital was involved what you could argue was a bigger bust - but ncsu wins for more of them - especially if you count the faculty run server that used to be in winston on the 3rd floor - best mp3 site in the US for a long time

yeah, i dont know why they dont allow standard hubs or switches, as a wirless acess point is jsut a GD switch if it does not offer dhcp or any other router like capabilities.
