My Toshiba HDD is giving me a SMART failure and I need the data off the HDD. Any one know where I can download the Toshiba HDD Diagnostic so I can see if I can get it up and running long enough to Ghost my drive.

not sure about the diagnostic utility, but try diabling SMART support in your bios

if your hdd is dying, theres nothin more a diagnostic disk will tell you

SMART should just give you a notification at startup, then let the OS load

go ahead and ghost it.. probably better to just grab whatever files you need first, incase it fails before ghost is done..
but usually it'll give the SMART notice a little while before the hdd is completely gone.. my stepdad's compaq had it and it started up ~4 more times after the SMART thing appeared during startup.. after that it was gone..

you can download the ultimate boot cd, it has all the HDD tests on it for most manufacturers.
