i know it's not helpful, but it really just depends on the guy, how much they put it, and how they style it...
but yes, it can look good. 11/3/2005 1:41:26 PM |

In the past two weeks, the NY Times, my hair guy and a lawyer I drink with have all said that men shouldn't use anything in their hair. You're supposed to only wash it every other day, instead. 11/3/2005 1:52:03 PM |

^ This stuff is the wins. Wimmen love the smell too...Very masculine smelling, but not in a ghey way.
I also use Pomade when I don't want anyone to be able to tell I needed something to keep the cowlicks down and shit. You just gotta be careful on how much or else people will think your shit looks greasy.

it depends on the hair style of course. as long as it isn't shiny or greasy (i can't stand that), it isn't a problem at all. 11/3/2005 2:16:05 PM |

hair product or gel on guys is not acceptable at all. I hate looking at a guys hair and it looks stiff and crunchy. I think its sexy for a guy to have hair that looks a little unruly if its long. If guys want their hair to look neater, cut it. There is no need for hair product on a guy AT ALL. Also a no-no, guys that blow dry their hair. 11/3/2005 2:19:25 PM |

Personally I like being able to run my fingers thru said hair...but sometimes fluffy hair looks awful. Gel isn't bad as long as you're not one of those guys who WIGS out if something touches their hair.
Hahaha, I said wigs.........

My boyfriend uses American Crew's Fiber stuff in his hair cause hes trying to grow it out from being a buzz cut and its just at an odd length to let it do what it would do naturally... and some times you just need to not have messed up hair. It doesnt leave his hair hard or gross either... you cant tell he has anything it just from looking. 11/3/2005 2:46:09 PM |

I use a straightening balm to weigh down a bit, my hair is thick as fuck and doesnt quite fro, but its way too huge (even when thinned out during cuts)
its pretty hard to tell anything is in it, and it does what i want. 11/3/2005 2:56:55 PM |

shut up you bitch. is that from the bible?
you talk as if all humans have the same hair anatomy. grow up and see the world around you, you spoilt little child.
unless i put something in my hair like gel or a leave in conditioner, it looks like i spent some time in a tumble dryer. it is dry as anything, and stands up and looks awful. and there are millions like me.

Agreed.
When I don't do my hair, I flat out don't look as good. I have that hair style where it flies around into a "fro" and it doesn't look attractive to the women (and that's what matters). Not to mention, it makes me look like some mexican (I'm asian).
Even a little bit of water would do wonders for my hair. It just looks better when it has a "wet" look to it. I know there are females out there that do the same thing because the hair is just hard to manage without something, anything to keep it in place.

I have no problems with men using some hair products, but it just depends on your overall look, your hair type and how/what products you use -- it can some times look really cheesy, and some times really hot.
e.g. this guy is the hotness (probably gay, but hot nevertheless)

I use this stuff
If I don't my hair looks like ass. I try to keep my hair short but my hair grows so fast I can't keep up with haircuts sometimes. It's the best product I've found that doesn't make my hair look all weighted down and greasy.
I have so many cowlicks my hair looks bad if I don't do something to it. Everytime I go get a haircut the person cutting my hair says I have the weirdest hair growth pattern they've ever seen. I get a mad rooster tail in the back every morning when I wake up that I have to do something with. 11/3/2005 4:11:58 PM |

Every time my hair starts feeling gross I put a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a bottle of water and I use it as a cleaning rinse. Keep rinsing with water until the smells out. (I use cholesterol with essential oils to condition though so the smell's never been a problem.) I have really fine, curly hair and I think it works great compared to commercial shampoos.

People who say guys shouldn't use anything at all don't undertand that some hairtypes stick straight out. If I took a shower and went straight to school, it would stand straight up and wave back and forth in the wind, which is pretty gay. Use some sort of paste wax. If you get the right kind, you can't even tell it's there. 11/3/2005 6:03:14 PM |

this stuff works, but doesn't look like you have anything in, and it also doesn't make your hair stiff or sticky. I need to use something, but I HATE being able to feel or see it. Also, girls do not like running their hands through gelled hair. If I Couldn't get head scratches... shit.. I'd kill myself
