Just curious to see what those who read the paper have an oppinion on this part of the paper. I've been reading the technician for about 2 years, and this year the ViewPoint Section is absolutely horrible. The Main Editorial always sounds like a 10 year whiing and yelling about something, not written professionally at all, and half the articles aren't even opinions, such as "How to Be Cool on IM", and many others of the sort. I'm just sick of reading horribly written articles on half thought up ideas. Post any thoughts on what you think of the paper this year.

well, the opinion columns are sometimes slightly more amusing than the rest of the paper. but i haven't bothered to read the technician much lately

makes my head hurt 90% of the time. campus forum was always my favorite section though...pretty much unedited stupidity (shade funnier than the columns).

Ever read "real" newspapers? I just read a column from some lady that was full of "unanswered questions" that she had over the last decade. The column quickly turned into a pet peeve rant about grammar mistakes and the most profound questions she came up with (see: easily answered) were:
1) Where is all the black soot in the air since the tread on everyone's tires is wearing/burning off?
2) Why are there only 2 tires on the front axle of an 18 wheeler and 4 on the other axles? After all, those are the most important tires.

That's life I guess. It happens when people that should only write a coulmn once a month have to do it twice a week. They run out of things to say.

For the last few years all I do is glance over the front page and sports page and then toss it away. If there's a band/music CD review in the entertainment section I'll read that because they're usually pretty funny. I love seeing the new words they make up to describe bands/songs.
