In June 2003, House Speaker Dennis Hastert sent a letter to Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton urging her to act in favor of clients of the scandal-plagued lobbyist Jack Abramoff. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported yesterday that investigators believe that Abramoff and his staff provided the congressmen with the letter's text.

there's nothing corrupt about writing a letter for someone
and i don't see you complaining about democrat legislators running with complete LEGISLATION written by lobbyists, much less a simple letter

Uhm, it's because running with complete legislation written by someone else is actually better, since you are openly asking for public approval. And admit it, if a letter had surfaced where a Democrat explicitly does something on a direct request of a union rep, we wouldn't know how to shut you up, would we? 11/7/2005 11:46:12 AM |

And fucking noone ever brought it up. Plus it's not like the relationship of someone close to indictments should automatically get a higher level of attention.
P.S. I wish a partisan whore of TGD would REALLY shut the fuck up. He participated in a campaign where the main argument against the opponent was "OMF, the guy! and Clinton! Together on the stage!!1 People, what else do you need to know?" and now the fucker calls others on hypocricy. Priceless. 11/7/2005 12:12:00 PM |

I thought it was common knowledge that all congress critters were bought and paid for by lobbyists 11/7/2005 12:29:36 PM |

It is. Except that Abramoff is not a lobbyist. 11/7/2005 12:37:43 PM |
