Cedric Simmons is the man. All my friends looked at me weird when i started saying he was awesome after the Liberty game last year in Reynolds Colisuem. Now I can rub it in all their faces that Big Ced is the man and has a lot of potential, hopefully he can put everything together this year and put some defensive pressure on the other big men in the ACC like sheldon and eric. Oh, and by the way, Ced is going to average 12 points a game this season and 3 blocks. 11/8/2005 12:17:39 AM |

Mays out of Clemson definately has the potential to sneak up on the front-runners this season.

Call me crazy, but I think Eric Williams is in for a disappointing season.
Ced will be a solid contributer this year, probably coming on strong down the stretch. I see his role this season coming along similar to Josh Powell's his last year here (but without the leaving school situation ). 11/8/2005 1:22:38 AM |

I think E. Williams will be fine this season.
Aside from the fact that Wake doesn't have many other offensive options, he's still a very strong post player.
But I think the year of experience will make a big difference for Ced. The fact that we have a couple of other strong post players will help to take some of the pressure off him, too. 11/8/2005 11:56:28 AM |

yeah I think Cedric will improve a lot as the season goes along. He's still got a long ways to go considering he only had 6pts against a short team like Guelph 11/8/2005 12:20:30 PM |

^^ How is Eric Williams "still a strong post player"? He has one asset: size. In 3 years he has yet to develop a reliable post move. Last year Chris Paul set him up for alot of uncontested dunks/layins. Justin Gray might be able to do some of the same, but teams can collapse on Williams and defend Gray's penetration. With Gray forced to play point, opponents don't have to honor the outside shot. When Eric Williams gets the ball in the post (with a 4 or 5 between him and the basket), he either puts up a brick or turns the ball over. Maybe he has improved from last year, but he hasn't shown anything in his career to show he is a reliable post presence on offense. 11/8/2005 1:51:11 PM |

any bets on how many blocks ced will get for the year? since last year he played a decent amount and got 35, i am gonna just go ahead and say he'll break 50 with the way he's been playing recently. and just for kicks i am calling 16 pts against iowa weds. 11/28/2005 4:46:04 AM |

^i predict 5 blocks by ced against iowa with the last one being a monster block, followed by ced flipping out and serving all of iowa. 11/28/2005 4:54:33 AM |

Barring any injuries, the NC State frontcourt is going to be really nasty later in the year, in no small part because of Ced. 11/28/2005 2:31:45 PM |
