i think my mom or somebody mentioned that some places offer classes over winter break (similar to summer courses). does anyone know if this is true, and where?

Yeah some school do it. From what I've been told mostly west coast. But I think some local schools offer onlines over break as well.

We have those here, too. The only one I'm certain of is some kind of skiing class for PE credit.

some schools up north do that. they call it "intercession classes" if i remember correctly. when my brother was in college he would take classes over the christmas break which are the same thing as our summer classes. lot of material in a short amount of time. however, i know NCSU does not do that cause i looked into it my frosh year.

I would totally love it if we did that.

If I could take one 3-credit hour course over the winter break it'd make my 20-hour schedule next semester into a 17-hour one...much more manageable.

i looked into it and there's quite a few schools that offer online courses. gonna have to talk to the parents about that. i figure it would be pretty easy.

University of Delaware does it. They have a longer winter break though, then get out a little later in the summer. You may be able to do a distance ed. class and finish it up a few weeks into our spring semester.

Elon has "Winter Term", which starts a day or 2 after New Years Day and lasts for 3 weeks. You take one class everyday for 3 hours. Then you get a week off before the spring semester starts at the first of February.

UofD is a pretty good school. I know they have one of the top 5 clinical psych. programs in the country, and their other graduate psych. programs are pretty good. Considering that, I would assume their undergrad is pretty decent. although that logic doesn't always hold true. Don't know what sort of class you're looking to take but thought that might interest you, since your profile says you're a psych. major. expect to pay @2k for one class if you do that though.

my guess is that your biggest problem will be a possible overlap of the other university's winter break and the start of the spring semester/end of the fall semester

Yeh most private schools have a J-term especially up north. My friend at Johns Hopkins goes to those classes and has alot of fun. Its usually cool seminar type classes. We dont' have that b/c we're poor.

I took J-term classes at UD when I was there. I recommend them, as you can get a lot of online classes you can breeze through,a dn its not too expensibe

I know for a fact that UNC greensboro offered it last winter. I remember cuz it was in the Technician. I have no idea if they are doing it this year.
