How do I get my computer to stop doing automatic updates over night? I have on multiple occaisions woken up and found my computer to have been restarted (automatically due to updates)- I don't mind that it wants to update itself, I would rather it be a prompted thing 11/10/2005 7:12:53 AM |

Rick click my computer, choose properties, and there is an Automatic updates tab.

open up the group policy editor for your computer.
Go to Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update
Open the Configure Automatic Updates policy
Set it to Enabled Configure automatic updating to mode 4 - Auto download and schedule pick install day and time.
Click apply.
Open the No Auto-restart for scheduled automatic updates installations.
Set it to enabled and click apply. 11/10/2005 10:47:53 AM |

I just want to get rid of the stupid nag screen after patches that don't need a reboot but windows asks for anyway (outlook junk mail filter) 11/10/2005 1:30:17 PM |
