Quote : | "GOP memo touts new terror attack as way to reverse party's decline
By DOUG THOMPSON Publisher, Capitol Hill Blue Nov 10, 2005, 06:19
A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”
The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections.
GOP insiders who have seen the memo admit it’s a risky strategy and point out that such scenarios are “blue sky thinking” that often occurs in political planning sessions.
“The President’s popularity was at an all-time high following the 9/11 attacks,” admits one aide. “Americans band together at a time of crisis.”" |
Ok. We know they carried out 9/11 to justify war in Afghanistan, Iraq, the phony "war on terrorism", and to implement a tyrannical police state in America and around the globe. And they carried out the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing to ramp up the police state here in America. But now they're openly talking about it like this? Wow.11/12/2005 11:00:26 AM |

Oh, what fun - a wonderful time - finding love for only a dime!

Sad thing is they could carry out an attack , announce they did it to the public, point the finger at another country and you would still have sheeple defending their actions. Its just sad.

I wouldn't be surprised a memo like that is floating around, because it's true, a terror attack would help them.
But the rest of SB's post is pure nutjob-ery. 11/12/2005 8:05:40 PM |

Quote : | "Prominent Conservative Leader: Government in Hands of Psychopaths
May stage terror attacks
Alex Jones & Paul Joseph Watson | November 15 2005
Former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal and former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury Dr. Paul Craig Roberts expressed his dire warning that the US government has fallen into the hands of psychopaths and that the Neo-Cons in the Bush administration may be set to stage another terror attack in the US as part of a black operation to demolish growing dissent and coerce the public to rally behind the government once again.
During an interview with the Alex Jones Show, Roberts cited a Capitol Hill Blue article concerning a leaked memo circulating between top Republican leaders.
The memo outlines potential strategies to bring their agenda back online, including the capture of Osama bin Laden, a drastic turnaround in the economy or a resolution of the war in Iraq.
The most alarming option includes a terrorist attack that would validate the President's war on terror and "restore his image as leader of he American people."
This document adds to the mountainous pile of smoking gun evidence of government complicity in staged terror attacks and other false flag operations. It has now been declassified, as we already knew, that the Gulf of Tonkin never happened. It was staged to get us into Vietnam. Operation Northwoods was the official US government plan to carry out 9/11 style attacks against the American people and blame it on foreign enemies as a pretext for war.
Publicly published PNAC documents before 9/11 had saliva stains all over them as Dick Cheney and others talked about helpful Pearl Harbor attacks.
Roberts went further than he has ever gone before in stating that the Neo-Cons were worse than Hitler and Stalin because they publicly embrace torture and pre-emptive war, something that past despots at least tried to hide.
As the Senate bill to block torture is blocked by Bush and Cheney, the promotion of torture in official circles continues." |

The U.S. government would NEVER talk about using a terrorist attack like this. And they would CERTAINLY never talk about actually carrying out an attack and then blaming it on the "terrorists" or someone else.
err........

Quote : | "U.S. Military Drafted Plans to Terrorize U.S. Cities to Provoke War With Cuba
By David Ruppe ABC News
N E W Y O R K, May 1, 2001 In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.
Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities.
The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro.
America's top military brass even contemplated causing U.S. military casualties, writing: "We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba," and, "casualty lists in U.S. newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation."" |

See, I disagree. I don't believe a new terror attack would help the GOP. If anything, I think it would further weaken them. Afterall, the GOP has been in total control of the government over the last five years, running on the idea that they were strong with national security and would protect us from terrorism. If after five years they can't stop a terrorist attack (rightly or wrongly), they're only going to sink much, much further. It's not that they can blame Clinton era policy on it anymore; they have no one else to blame. 11/16/2005 1:13:37 PM |
