Considering his sponsors this year, I wonder if a reporter asked him at his press conference, "Were you drinking Crown Royal?"
And next year, he'll be driving a Miller car!
This is good, it shows that NASCAR at moments has its Terrell Owens moments as well, as opposed to this good-natured cartoon it always tries to represent itself as.
Busch's car owner next year, Roger Penske, will be on Wind Tunnel tonight. Should be fun! 11/13/2005 2:23:26 PM |

The guy that won the NASCAR championship last year. Drove the Sharpie/Crown Royal/Irwin Tools car depending on what week it was.
He's from Las Vegas. His dad owned a casino there when he was growing up so he grew up with lots of money handed to him.
A friend of mine from UNC-Charlotte was hanging out with some people at a club and Kurt Busch was there too. A person came up to the table, said he was a friend of Kurt Busch, and asked a girl at the table out on behalf of him. Prick, through and through. 11/13/2005 8:32:15 PM |

^^ All of these young drivers come from well-off families. There is no way a kid as young as some of these guys are is going to be able to show off his "talent" without having a ton of money behind him to start. And considering you usually cant just go sign a sponsor unless youve proven yourself to some extent, its safe to say that daddy is footing the bill. If these guys were from blue collar families, they would still be racing at the closest 1/4 mile dirt track. 11/13/2005 9:09:19 PM |

Tony Stewart disproves that, his dad never put a dime in his racing. He was pretty much a ride chaser.
Although yes, it's true that the majority of racers use Daddy's money. But most of those daddys are managers at a local business, not a millionaire that owns a casino.11/13/2005 9:33:52 PM |

No he doesn't. You missed the point entirely. The point was YOUNG drivers. Tony was 26 before he even made it up to IRL. Busch was already given a chance at the Winston level by 22. Kyle was only like 18.

kyle busch talkin shit about Roush taking a "true champion" out of the race yesterday was pretty bad too...it just goes to show that neither one of those snot nosed little california rat lookin pricks have any class. I hope Miller Light wont sponsor him next year. I would love Jimmy Spencer flatten kyles nose too.

Roush should have dumped Kurt's butt when he signed with Penske. Roush owes that moron nothing. 11/14/2005 8:36:25 AM |

Carl Edwards is a young driver whose case kind of swings away from the whole money-dad-family thing. 11/14/2005 9:34:53 AM |

Larry Mac is absolutely right though. If Kurt were in the hunt for the championship and if he wasnt going to Penske next year, Roush never would have suspended him. Theres been bad blood between busch and roush for a while now. This was the straw that broke the camels back. GG to Kenny Wallace for finishing 16th in a car that he'd never driven before and that he found out he was going to race 1 hour before the green flag fell. 11/14/2005 10:56:17 AM |
