I was going to call Discount Tire and Just Tires...

I know Discount Tires used to do a pricematch on internet prices (plus a mounting charge)...though when they started pricematching they didn't charge a mounting fee

Anywhere else do internet pricematching? Any other ways to get the best deals on tires?

i dunno, normally i would say changing tires isn't rocket science but then I would say the same about changing oil...and the geniuses at jiffy lube screw that up routinely so who knows.

sam's did me good when i bought tires from there a couple of years ago...^ and you're right, changing tires doesn't require immense automotive knowledge so price is probably the primary factor

not only do they have great prices, but he'll get commission

wherever you decide to go for tires, check out their website. Many have web coupons for $ off 2 or 4 tires

I had my tires mounted at BJs for $6 a piece. They didn't balance them though, I didn't want them to.
You can get them from tire rack for reasonably cheap, but good luck finding a place to mount them.

Find a place that will match online prices. Then get a quote from that store. Then take that quote to another store and have them beat that.

example. Tire rack is $142 a tire. Then go to Just tires and have them go to $140 mounted and balanced. Then go to NTB and have them do $135 mount and balanced.

How would i get Just Tires to do it for $140 mounted and balanced if the cost is $142 per tire online? Even if they don't charge a mounting fee how do i get them cheaper than the tire-only price?

bttt

can't decide btw the michelins and yokohamas, the michelins are a bit more and may be better tires, but the yokos heave a better treadwear rating

I don't know how I got those cheaper than tire rack. That is just what happened. I just would reccommend playing tire places against each other for the cheapest price.

I would buy the yokos myself.

I also like just tires on glenwood for their service. They got me a narrow walled flip socket for my own personal use, cheaper than I could get one from the store. They also sourced hibcentric rings for one of my sets of wheels. Granted that was three years ago though.
