i keep getting spam in my ncsu email. i'm sure it's against ncsu.edu TOS to not use the directory for solicitation purposes. can and do organizations like nc state directly prosecute spammers?

and btw, i'm not just talking about the v1a gra spam that everybody gets. i'm talking about local merchants too. they might have a relevant purpose for emailing me, but if they acquired my address by farming my email address, can you do anything about that?
