def. not uwharrie. yep, apparently there was a group up there driving off the trail, forging new bypasses, etc. some of them from cary land rover from what i understand. maybe the USFS won't be so nice about letting them film commercials there now.

correct me if i'm wrong but if the coil becomes unseated you still have no weight on the tire?

soooo whats the point ? i mean the long arm setup i'm looking @ has limiting straps for that reason.


by the way i think alot of the guys around carolina rock shop rock a "landrover rescue team" sticker

but i must say when i did the landrover offroad driving school @ the builtmore i was impressed @ what a range rover rollin on 20s can do.

true no weight on the tire, but i'll deal with it. when i build my 4 link in the future i will be using limiting straps. with limiting straps though, you'll just lift the tire, so no real difference unless you have a locker, which i am lacking in the front.

these things could be further modified into rock crawlers...but they have to remain road stable...so this is about as extreme as they could go, while still being able to drive these daily

i'm pretty sure that's ligon mill, which is not legal. it's also been heavily patroled by the wake co. sherriff's dept. in the past, so you might want to let your friends know. i've posted enough of the same rants/raves on here about illegal 4 wheeling that you should be able to search and find one if you care about why it's not a good thing to do.

you've still got unsprung weight... better than nothing. it is possible to have too much flex though.

definitely not... there is ALOT more they could do to improve off road performance while still being very liveable as daily drivers. many things that would have absolutely no effect on road manners, and others that would only have a minimal effect.
