Does ECE206 count as a cross over credit for CSC236?

Mrs. Townsend said she *thought* it did, but I had never heard of it. Guess I'll have to drag myself to campus to be sure.

Short answer: It depends ... on a bunch of things.

I know people who have had it done ... I know people who haven't had it done. Talk to either the ECE advisor or one of the CSC advisors in person to find out.

I was told by Hatch a few years back that taking 206 gives you credit for 236, but 236 doesn't give you credit for 206.

I think it does - there is an ECE class that will count for 236, because my roommate did it. I do remember the ECE class was harder, mostly because they didn't use the intel assembly language, but a different one, so there were no multiply and divide instructions they could use. I seem to remember the programs being more difficult too.

But as always, I could be wrong - check with the advisors.

I don't think 206 is hard. We use an imaginary ISA (LC3) to avoid legacy issues with other ISAs. The only mathamatical/logical ops are AND/ADD/NOT.
