The Lambo stands no chance in a straight line.

0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds vs. 4 seconds.

In fact all three mass production American supercars are quicker than the baby Lambo, and two of them are faster than the Murcielago as well!

Ford GT: 3.4 sec
C6 Z06: 3.5 sec
Viper: 3.8 sec

Gallardo: 4 sec
Murcielago: 3.8 sec

Having said that, if offered one, I would still pick an Italian supercar over an American one.

(only exception is the Enzo-beating Saleen S7)

btw, lambo is going to resurrect the following 3 vehicles:

SUV (to compete with cayenne)
Espada (2+2 to compete with 612 Scaglietti)
Miura (super-supercar to compete with Enzo and Carrera GT)

Their main competitor historically has been Ferrari, so those new cars will mainly be to compete with them.

But regardless, Porsche is not really under VW. There is some collaboration thing going on between them, but VW doesn't own Porsche, like it does Lambo or Audi.

On the other hand, Porsche owns 18.53% of VW!
