Good for what?

Don't expect to be playing 3D-accelerated games at a decent frame rate or high resolution

but if you don't play games, then sure, it's fine for just typical 2D use.

this is an integrated video card on your motherboard by the looks of it

they're alright, depending on which games you want to play. i doubt you'll be playing any bf2 or anything intense with that.

The other computer I'm looking at has only two different specs. One is that it has 70 more GB of hardrive, although HD isn't an issue on either one. The cheaper one has 250GB. The other difference is the second computer has an ATI Radeon X300. The price difference of the two computers is $200. Worth it?

It'll probably run something like Civ IV, but that's it. Maybe 5 fps on other games, if at all.

X300 aren't fantastic, but the difference between it and the Intel integrated graphics is the difference between being able to play new games at low settings and not being able to play them at all.

But for a $200 premium, just get the cheaper PC and buy a $150 6600GT, which is a much, much better card.

^^^ not nescessarily. some computers have no AGP/PCIE video expansion slot. Yeah, give us your budget and needs and we can sniff out a good deal on a computer that'll do it for you. It'll probably be a dell or a computer we fround through slickdeals ot techbargains or something.

Dual core has more benefits for content creators than gamers right now anyways, as games aren't optimized to take advantage of it. I mean, the first game I know that's supposed to take advantage of it is TES IV: Oblivion, and that's not out till february.

So yeah, unless you're paying alot more to get a pentium D... go for it. Have something being encoded to mpeg in the background while you photoshop something else and you'll definately see the advantage of having a dual core processor.

I wouldn't spend $200 for an X300. We have on one the dell at home and it plays Most games at 1024x768, but you could get a 6800GS for $200 on newegg. It would rip an x300 apart.

^^^ yeah, x800 series from radeon, or Geforce 6600 series from nvidia will be a much better than that x300... and around the same price. sometimes it's best to just go with whatever the cheapest card the manufacturer offers, and upgrade it yourself. sometimes.

It's not that Nvidia is better than ATI or the other way around. The 6800GS is just a good buy around the $200 range. The X800GTO is a good alternative for around the same price.
