I'm trying to buy Christmas gifts for some of my friends' kids, and although I know what the girls will be getting, I am clueless about what the boys will like (ages 6-10). Thus far the only ideas I've come up with are Star Wars themed T-shirts or hoodies. What other themes are a hit with the kids this year? And what gifts are the safest (legos, tees, etc) that they won't dislike?

PS: What size T-shirts do boys that age wear? I'm so confused.

^4 Actually I know exactly what their interests are...Wolfpack Sports, Canes, Star Wars, Surfing, etc etc. But they have enough of everything in those themes, thanks to the grandparents. So I need fresh/unique ideas now.

you should give their mom the book It's Perfectly Normal by Robie Harris (illustrated by Michael Emberley)

that should help her with the "birds and the bees" talk
at least take some of the dread out of it

also, What's Happening To My Body? is a good book for such things when they're a little older

You know the problem with legos is, once they build that thing up for the first time, they break it down and then those little buggers are flying all over the house and the dogs keep choking on them, so I'm definitely not going with legos. I definitely need to find some cool board games, I may have to make that trip to Toys R Us after all.
