hey i just became familiar with Early Day Miners, a really cool canadian band who play what is popularly (ie. pitchfork) called slowcore (i despise names with core just as much as you do btw) although i consider them more of the midwest emo sound kind of like texas is the reason, mineral, promise ring, sdre etc.

Anyway enough of the fucking genre game, if you guys can list some other bands that sound similar to them, or the other bands i listed i would be grateful. if you guys want to hear some mp3s of them here are two:
