Is anyone as excited about this game as I am? It is currently scheduled for release at the beginning of December. I absolutely loved The Sands of Time and the Warrior Within... I would say that The Sands of Time was one of the best single player games I have played since Ocarina of Time. I would post some screenshots and stuff but I'm at work and they won't let me

I have it reserved for gamecube at EB. Hoping it has the middle eastern music of sands of time and none of that hoobastank shit from warrior within.

Technically it is the sixth Prince of Persia game.

I also have it pre-ordered for the GC at EB. The music from the first one was great, I have the mp3 of the main theme. I didn't really mind the music from the second one (it was Godsmack btw), but the music from the Sands of Time was a lot better.

Godsmack, Hoobastank.. Don't see much of a difference they are both shit. After watching the making of video that unlocked after beating it and counting the piercings on the head designer it's no wonder they opted for Godsmack. Also with Warrior Within, particularly when the Dahaka showed up, the music would play for a few seconds then go silent. Hopefully they didn't rush this one and end up with mistakes like that.

Cause there is only one next gen console out and not many people have it.

Sands of Time was awesome. Warrior Within blew. I expect more of the latter from #3.

I liked the first one better but I still really liked the second one. The first one was just too short for me and I don't think it was nearly as challenging as the second. The music was incredible though. I really liked the combat system in the second one. It took a little while to get used to but once you did it was fun. There were too many glitches though.

If they somehow combine the atmosphere of the first with the combat of the second, it will be the best of the three. I hope as much as people complained about the Godsmack in Warrior Within that this is the case. I'm interested to see how well the chariot sequences play.

Oh yeah and the Dahaka chase sequences were awesome except for some bad camera angles and the music cutting off. Hopefully there's something like that in this one, too.

^There is a site where you can watch both endings (in case you wanna watch it again). I missed one of the life powerups somewhere early in it so I didn't get to see the real ending in game. But yeah the real end was cool. It will be interesting to see what happens with Kaileena now that Farah is back in the picture.

I'm not sure if I was completely unable to go back and get it or not. I think there were a few parts or something where you had to jump down to proceed, but it was too high to jump back up. Even if I were able to go back and get the last one, I wouldn't bother since it would literally take hours and I probably wouldn't even remember where to go. You can easily end up going in circles in this game.

Another lame aspect of Warrior Within is the unexplained guy made of crows. There was no excuse for that game to be as flawed as it was considering how great the first is. I'll be sorely disappointed if this one is a rushed mess.

It wasn't one guy made of crows, he was just one of the types of enemies. Often at times though, you would hit him and he would fly to a corner of the level and rather jump/swing/wall run up to finish fighting him, it would just be easier to go on to the next part.

I got the feeling he was supposed to be significant because there would be crows in rooms leading up to him as sort of a signal. I suppose I was wrong.

Music for The Two Thrones is by Stuart Chatwood, keyboardist for the late Tea Party.
He has a sample up on his myspace: http://www.myspace.com/stuartchatwood

[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 12:14 AM. Reason : i think he also did the music for Sands of Time]

got this game tonight and played to the first big plot twist. so far it is damn fantastic. the speed kill system is intuitive and extremely cool, plus there are a bunch of new acrobatic moves to do. highly recommended.

not Godsmack. In other words, exactly what I was hoping for. My only gripe, and it's minor, are that the graphics are not updated from last year. But I've never been one to ejaculate over good graphics.

IGN gave it a favorable review, although im disappointed by the apparent short gameplay. Im sure ill just use a week rental at blockbuster for this one.

****SPOILERS*****

I finally got to play it tonight and I have played it up until the part when the Vizier kills Kaileena. My question is this though: For those of you who played Sands of Time (I'm assuming most of you), didn't you kill the Vizier at the end? I'm pretty sure that killing the Vizier was one of the things that the Prince didn't[i] rewind. But the Prince [i]did stop the Sands of Time from being created (in Warrior Within), so as a result, the Vizier was never actually died, right? Is my logic correct on this or am I just confusing myself?

Ok I'll do a timeline to help if you are confused:

Pre-Sands of Time
Maharaja invades the Island of Time. He finds it empty except for the Hourglass of Time and the Dagger of Time. He takes it back to his palace.

Sands of Time
Vizier tricks Prince into unlocking the sands after the Prince/King have defeated the Maharaja.
Prince travels through the palace to get to the Hourglass
Prince stabs Dagger of Time into the Hourglass of Time, time is rewound.
Prince starts out at the beginning of the game now, with all the previous events undone up until the invasion of the Maharajas kingdom.
Prince knows of the events to come and convinces Farah that the Vizier is plotting her demise
Vizier overhears the conversation and the Prince kills him

Warrior Within
Prince is pursued by Dahaka and has to travel to the Island of Time to prevent the sands from being created.
Prince successfully defeats the Dahaka, and Kaileena is not killed ---> SANDS ARE NOT CREATED
Since Sands are not created, the Hourglass is empty to begin with. The events of the first game NEVER TOOK PLACE, ie Vizier was never killed by the Prince

This of course drives the story into a temporal paradox, but that is just one of the things you have to deal with when any story involves time travel.

I <3 Speed Kill system. Except it sucks when you are like .2 seconds off in a big long chain of them and it fucks up the entire thing.

worth a buy or just rent it for a week?

It depends on how much free time you are gonna have to play it. I played it for a few hours every day for a week and beat it, but I was taking my time and exploring every part of it. If you rushed through the entire thing, you could probably beat it in a few days. The replay value is pretty good though.

its definitely worth picking up

also, God of War is very similar to this game in almost every aspect with better graphics by just a tad. Gameplay is about the same with very minor differences.

definitely worth the pickup
