this tv is on sale for $369.99 on friday. now it only supports 480p, 480i, and 1080i. what would happen if i had something that runs in 720p (such as an xbox 360 game that only runs in 720p in hd).

well i know fox shows their nfl games in 720p. if i had a tv that only supported 480p, 480i, and 1080i, then what happens? does it show it at the next lowest res (480)?

It'll show in the highest res. of the TV. I find it hard to believe it can't do 720p, but if not, it'll convert the 720p to 1080.

Only if it's a digital signal as the input.

You won't be able to choose stuff for analog inputs. That TV probably won't even let you choose the digital inputs, it'll just automatically do it.

it has auto sensing so i guess it automatically chooses the res. when you say digital inputs you mean like component/composite inputs and a digital cable box?

yeah, i get it, itll run everything at 1080 as long as its the composite (Y, PB, PR, AUDIO-L/R) inputs? like these inputs...itll run all hd in 1080i or convert it to 1080i if its a lower res.

jesus, moron you really give your name its meaning. i dont even want to correct everything in this thread. needless to say almost all the cheap tvs (and by almost all, i mean all) or going to be 1080i and not 720p.

There is a digital component video spec that some TVs support (but not that one).

Also, all guitarguy really needed to know is if the TV would work for what he wants, and it would. It doesn't matter how.

try to find atleast a 32". HDTV is going to look really tiny since it will be letterboxed
