in Leipzig, Germany. It is the newest factory i believe (opened in 2000?) Got to watch the entire assembly process of the Cayenne and the Carrera GT which is very impressive. The robotics on the factory floor for the Cayenne blew my mind. But of course the Carrera GT is assembled by hand so its assembly line was a lot smaller and different. Also rode in a stripped out test vechile (Cayenne Turbo) nothing but a roll cage 4 racing seats and a crazy ass professional driver driving like a bat out of hell around their test track. I was most impressed with doing 100mph around a sharp curve in a SUV and not rolling. I don't think i've ever been on a rollercoaster quite as exciting. It was definitly an experience I cannot put into words. Will be going back soon to ride in the GT2 around the test track (since conditions where too cold today for the GT2)

135 Euro for full tour and thrill ride in a 400hp+ GT2
110 Euro for full tour and drive the Cayenne on their 16km long off road coure with a professional instructor as your co-pilot
55 Euro just for the Full tour

they also offer driving school for all different levels. you may bring your own car (all brands welcome) or they will provide you with a porsche. price range from 150 Euro all the way up to 1500 Euros

The awesome thing is you aren't behind some "glass" watching the factory floor. you are actually there walking amongs the eng. and mechanics and getting to see the motors built from scratch, suspension put in, the entire chasis attached to the 'shell' of the car. Programming the on board computers and GPS units etc. It really is amazing. if you are ever in Germany definitly gotta do this.

you aren't allowed to take photos in the factory but i did get some pictures in the show room with each one of their cars except the new porsche (caymen sp?) was covered and will be unvieled tomorrow.

(i can go to edit post and then copy the urls and then paste one by one in a new window to view the pics, but it would be nice to see them all together in the thread... thanks if you do the effort)

for starters its not a mass produced car. only 1500 or so have been made or are going to be made all in which are sold. It wouldn't make sense for them to configure an entire factory floor just to make 1500 cars.
