Okay, so people keep saying,"Oh, we had the same intelligence as everybody else..."
First off, that ain't true, the prez knew a lot more than fucking Congress...
SECOND OFF, YOU GUYS JUST DON'T SEEM TO GET IT...We didn't care about the intelligence. All we wanted was to wait until we got more intelligence, until we had time to truly evaluate the situation. You fuckers didn't wanna wait for more intelligence...
Why? Some of you went crazy from 911. Some of you love war. Some of you hate Saddam. Some of you are stupid. Some of you wanted to make some reconstruction loot. Some of you got scared shitless of terrorism.
WHAT WOULD THE WORLD BE LIKE IF WE JUST HAD A LITTLE MORE PATIENCE, A LITTLE MORE INTEGRITY, AND SOME FUCKING BALLS? 11/26/2005 2:28:09 PM |

President Bush is not a big fan of shouldering the blame. There are political reasons for it, and there are political reasons against it, but it is what it is. 11/26/2005 5:38:40 PM |

TGD was obviously trying to say that, during the Cold War, the communists were more patient, honest and courageous, and that if more people in the US had had those characteristics we would have successfully smashed capitalism and embraced the USSR.11/26/2005 5:48:35 PM |

its a simple business. so long as we fund their operations and fight for them they'll be happy. if you dont mind doing their dirty work and believe their in their half-truths and deception, thats something you should probably question. 11/26/2005 8:50:10 PM |

Saddam would be in power. One of his bloodthirsty sons would be prepping to take his place and make his own name for himself. Either of them would have de facto permission from the world to pursue WMD. Libya would still have an active WMD program. Any form of vocal disagreement with the Iraqi regime would be punishable by death. The last round of Iraqi elections would have been a complete and utter sham. The guy you hate so much would have a higher popularity rating. Osama bin Laden would probably still be alive or at least unaccounted for.
Will that suffice, or should I go on?11/26/2005 9:41:08 PM |

There'd be fewer terrorists with experience fighting US troops. There wouldn't have been any Iraqis killed by American weapons. T3h g0v would have wasted money on something different. 11/26/2005 9:52:38 PM |

^^No; I meant it in the sense of, "Even though we wouldn't have taken troops away from Afghanistan, Osama would still be around." 11/26/2005 10:04:09 PM |

So you accuse Bush of lying to go to war, then say he doesnt have any balls? If he has the audacity to do what you are claiming then he has more balls than any president for the past 20 years who have looked at the same intellegence as Bush did when he made the desicion to go to war. Ohh wait. Thats right. Bush cannot go to war unless congress agrees to it.
Quote : | "the prez knew a lot more than fucking Congress..." |
Do you really think that Bush knew more than congress, and somehow knew that the Russians, Brits, our own intellegence, and pretty much everyone else in the world were lying by telling us that Sadam had nukes? So according to you, Bush knew that it wasnt true and somehow manipulated congress by giving them all this false information that was backed up by several countries, iraqi experts, and our own intellegence. I'm glad you liberals think our "prez" is smart enough to do that.
I dont what anyone else to answer this question except for BridgetSPK: Why do you think Bush would intentionally lead the USA into Iraq? Surely there must be some other reasons besides Nukes, terrorist links, UN violations, and countless murders.

Quote : | " If the Iraqi regime is able to produce, buy, or steal an amount of highly enriched uranium a little larger than a single softball, it could have a nuclear weapon in less than a year. And if we allow that to happen, a terrible line would be crossed. Saddam Hussein would be in a position to blackmail anyone who opposes his aggression. He would be in a position to dominate the Middle East. He would be in a position to threaten America. And Saddam Hussein would be in a position to pass nuclear technology to terrorists.
Some citizens wonder, after 11 years of living with this problem, why do we need to confront it now? And there's a reason. We've experienced the horror of September the 11th. We have seen that those who hate America are willing to crash airplanes into buildings full of innocent people. Our enemies would be no less willing, in fact, they would be eager, to use biological or chemical, or a nuclear weapon.
Knowing these realities, America must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof -- the smoking gun -- that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud" | is what he said about nukes11/27/2005 3:11:52 PM |

Quote : | "President Bush and top administration officials have access to a much broader range of intelligence reports than members of Congress do, a nonpartisan congressional research agency said in a report Thursday, raising questions about recent assertions by the president. ... The Congressional Research Service, by contrast, said: "The president, and a small number of presidentially designated Cabinet-level officials, including the vice president ... have access to a far greater overall volume of intelligence and to more sensitive intelligence information, including information regarding intelligence sources and methods." ... The CRS report identified nine key U.S. intelligence "products" that aren't generally shared with Congress. These include the President's Daily Brief, a compilation of analyses that's given only to the president and a handful of top aides, and a daily digest on terrorism-related matters." |
