they want to bring their own notary buddy to do the deed, i need to know if thats cool or does it have to be a NC notary 11/30/2005 12:27:17 AM |

You do not need a notary for most out of state sales (or when you buy a car from out of state). I would be careful dealing w/this person/people, it sounds fishy. Consider accepting only cash, and offer to do the transaction @a bank. Ahmet 11/30/2005 12:33:57 AM |

well i will be getting a nonrefundable deposit from them via paypal and the remainder in cash when they get here, and it will be on a saturday so the bank is pretty much out. the reason they will have their own notary is they have to get a ride out here to pick the van up 11/30/2005 12:50:01 AM |

Still don't need a notary. Infact, a notary from another state, I don't think would be "valid"... Ahmet 11/30/2005 1:34:00 AM |

The UPS store has notaries. Call ahead to make sure one is in. Just tell them you'll pay the 8 bucks and be done with it. 11/30/2005 7:21:26 AM |

I sold my truck to a guy from WV. He drove down with a friend. I signed the title over, had him sign a bill of sale that I got from the net, and took the plates off (he brought an old WV plate) paid me with a wad of cash and we were done. No notary or anything like that. This is how I was told to do it by the DMV.
[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 9:18 AM. Reason : If you have any ?'s though, just call up the DMV and ask them] 11/30/2005 9:15:59 AM |
