Just curious as to whether it is any good. I didnt like Enter the Matrix, so hopefully it is better than that. 11/30/2005 10:50:36 AM |

there was a thread in chit chat with basically the video of the ending to the game. without saying any spoilers, its awful. i wouldnt play it for that alone. knowing that the payoff for the whole game is so ridiculously stupid is not a good incentive to play. 11/30/2005 10:54:50 AM |

^^, ^ : and yet it is still better than Revolutions. Fan fiction was better than both. 11/30/2005 11:05:07 AM |

well i mean
thats what happens when you take a dragonball z episode and replace Cell with Agent Smith and Gohan with Neo
you just kinda wind up with something that seems like it should be cool, but really just isn't 11/30/2005 11:06:11 AM |

I have to admit. At first I though the new game ending was a parody. I'm still on the fence. 11/30/2005 11:12:30 AM |

how is the gameplay up to the ending though? I didnt think the ending was that bad from what i read about. I just play games for the fun in getting to the end, not necessarily just to see the ending. 11/30/2005 11:19:25 AM |

To save you the time/effort:
OVER SIMPLIFIED SPOILER AHEAD
Mr. Smith pretty much possesses a bunch of junked up cars that are in the street and then uses them to form Voltron (the crappy car one). Voltron looks just like Mr. Smith, he even grabs a billboard to make a pair of shades for himself. From there I guess you "beat" Mr. Smith once and for all.

The game itself isn't horrible, but I wouldn't buy it, not even cheap. Just rent it some night when you're desperate to play a game. You'll probably beat it in 2 days if not less. It's far far better than Enter the Matrix, but its still only a rental. Hand-to-hand fighting is kinda fun when you get used to it, gun-fighting isn't great, but if you learn to mix up guns with the hand-to-hand you can do some pretty neat looking kills on grunts. All other weapon fighting (staff, sword, whatever) sucks. If you get a sword or staff, just switch to your hands.
**Some additional spoilers about the ending below that add onto the last spoiler post.**
the new ending was pretty stupid yea. The fight against the huge smith isn't even that good...repetitive and really easy. The only good part of the ending was that the Wachowski brothers show up (sorta) and tell you why they changed the ending for the game. It's a funny scene, but like someone said earlier, that alone isn't enough to warrant playing the game. 11/30/2005 7:50:01 PM |
