got a civic 2 years ago - stage II motors (oh hells yeah - not really), metal bearing kit, AWD kit.....
the fucker drifts like hell on dusty hardwood flooring 12/1/2005 12:03:38 PM |

is the AWD kit worth it? how about the metal bearings - I can't find those anywhere. 12/1/2005 3:45:45 PM |

ok, here is my story- the bearings make it run a bit more smoothly; other than that, not a big difference. some of the bearings have actually spun inside the races instead of operating properly - oh well.
with the second lowest gearing setup (think like 9-tooth on motor) it would spin uncontrollably... no fun... under full acceleration, it would roast the tires for a few feet and then spin out - every time. the addition of the AWD kit made a night and day difference. where the RWD setup would spin out in turns, the AWD claws through, an most of the time in a sideways manner turning is much more controlled and predictable. it's really worth the $$. It still will spin under power and do donuts also. very fun to watch 12/1/2005 4:07:12 PM |

AWD it is.
Anyone know the difference between the new ones (revolution for $60) and the old ones ($50)? 12/1/2005 7:19:34 PM |

ive had a couple, search for the old threads. since my supra started messing up i got a z06 and swapped all the goodies over. i think i have all the go fast stuff except the metal bearings. 12/1/2005 8:28:10 PM |

i think the evolution models are a little bit better than the old versions, plus there seems to be a better variety of models to choose from.
ebay has a shit ton of metal and supposedly carbon fiber stuff for the cars, as well as kits to add more battery cells 12/1/2005 10:52:42 PM |

hardwood floors, awd and the foam tires are really fun, ive also put electrical tape over the regular tires and had fun on vinyl floors, even a 5x5 kitchen floor
i had more success with my old supra on carpet than with the z06, the supra was hella fun on asphalt too but you gotta watch the pebbles and stuff, cause it WILL flip. ive been meaning to find a nice quiet tennis court where i can take mine out and play with it some, i havent really done anything with it in about a year.
also you can sometimes make your own bodies, i made a 442 one fit from another little rc car - it was way lighter than the supra body and let the car run a little faster, but didnt stand up well to impacts

i started out with the foam tire kit, but got bad results after an improper tire-wheel assembly. i am currently running a set of tires from the big tire replacement kit. they are perfect for the hardwood im running on. ive thought about hitting up the Talley ballroom some evening and see how well the civ does... im getting itchy to purchase the silver supra body to swap to. heh heh - an awd civic just looks to fantastic 12/2/2005 10:46:56 PM |
