Alright, I've done a lot with car audio, I've sold it installed it designed it competed in it... whatever...

So yesterday I built a custom box for my truck... the bitch is PERFECTLY sealed, you can't even press the damn speaker in, its awesome

I built it b/c I have a crapload of stuff sitting around my house and I'm about to move so I needed to do something with it and I had time with it being dead week...

In the pile of stuff that I have sitting around is a 2gauge amp kit with 4gauge leads, and some 8gauge scrap and then a 4gauge 20' run... I decided that I didn't feel like running 2/4 gauge in the truck since I'm just running a 300w amp and will never upgrade so I'd pick up a power wire kit,

first stop WALMART Schosh 8gauge power pack 40 fuckin feet with all terminals and ground wire for $20

I was wondering if that was the best deal I could get and I needed to go to total wine so I dropped by best buy... $50 for only 17' connectors and ground wire... I've worked there I knew the mark up was rediculous but thats just insane... first time I really ran head-on to markup like that with what I know...

Best Buy has the most retarded markups imaginable on car audio. I miss getting everything at cost when I worked there.

$450 amp = $261 employee cost

$60 wiring kit = 22 employee cost

the best was usb cables though

19.99 / $2.24 employee cost

yeah I used to work there too... which is where my "running into markup headon" statement came from, b/c now I don't even know anybody that still works there (wait I should have gotten garrett to buy it for me since he parked at my house for free all year... damn)

My sister works there and keeps talking about quitting and the rest of the family does their best to talk her out of it. No one that is cool enough to use from when I worked there still does. If my sister quits im up shits creek.

lan cable is crazy too, i bought a 500 foot roll at lowes, and 20 crimp ends, for the cost of 2 25' cables at best buy, and i was able to make everything the custom length i needed. i have enough left to last me for years

Shit, at Circuit City I can get car audio for 70% off in some cases.

Inifiniti components and subs, perfect series, for I think 72% off retail.

I applied to best buy and circuit city in the past. Neither would hire me. CC said I didn't have enough sales experience and I failed the test or whatever at BB.

Ohhh, well. Life goes on.
