EXCEPT THEY WOULDN'T BE THE ONLY 7-1 TEAM.

cough* OREGON *cough

And USC would have the tiebreak between the 3, not 2

Where the hell are you getting 9-1 from?

USC is 7-0, UCLA is 6-1, and Oregon is 7-1. If UCLA wins that puts all 3 at 7-1. USC would have beaten Oregon but lost to UCLA, UCLA didn't play oregon but beat USC.

first of all, if there's a clause it's certainly not the Pac-10 who made it, it's the stupid BCS. And anyway it would be pretty fucking stupid because the Rose Bowl would basically be a home game for USC as well.

I was debating going to the UCLA/USC game today but I don't feel like listening to a bunch of reject Trojan morons yell and scream and try to cause fights....they're a bunch of thugs....all of em

Actually, the Pac10 & every other conference has their own tie breaking procedures for determining champions. BCS just takes the team that the confernce says is champion.

The Pac10 is fixing the unbalanced schedule next year though, so that everyone will play everyone else.

Quote :
"A) Two-Team Tie If the tied teams played one another, the winner of their game shall be the representative.

If they tied or did not play one another, then the following formula shall be used:

(1) Count 4 points for a Conference win.

(2) Count 3 points for a non-Conference win against a Division I-A team.

(3) Count 2 points for a non-Conference win against a non-Division I-A team.

(4) Count 2 points for a Conference tie.

(5) Count 1-1/2 points for a non-Conference tie against a Division I-A team.

(6) Count 1 point for a non-Conference tie against a non-Division I-A team.

B) Multiple-Team Ties. When three or more teams are tied in the loss-tie column in Conference play, if one has defeated all others, it shall be the representative. If that is not the case, a team defeated by all other tied teams shall be eliminated. If one team has not defeated the others, the point formula shall be computed. Only the top two teams on the point system shall thereafter be considered. If a tie for the second position occurs upon application of the point formula, the second team shall be the winner of the game between the tied teams, or, if the teams did not play each other or played a tie game, the team which has not played in the Bowl for the longest period of time shall be the second team. If more than two teams remain tied after computing the point formula, the team most recently appearing in the Bowl shall be eliminated and the appropriate two-team or multiple tie-breaking procedures are then applied to the remaining teams.

If the remaining two teams played one another, the winner shall be the representative. If they tied or did not play one another, the team with the highest point total for all games shall be the Bowl representative. If a tie remains, the team most recently appearing in the Bowl shall be eliminated"

If the above points system is used for multiple tied teams, USC and UCLA are the 2 remaining teams. Since UCLA would have beaten USC they should get the nod. Or at least that's the way I understand it. But that's a big IF and I doubt UCLA will pull the upset.

hmm. Maybe I was wrong. By that formula USC would have 40, UCLA and Oregon would have 36. So whichever one of those would be with USC. If UCLA, UCLA would get the nod. If oregon, USC would get the nod. wow. wtf. This shit is just too confusing.

I'm rooting for UCLA

Maurice Drew is just as good as Reggie Bush, he just doesn't have that monster line to run behind.
