well, unless you plan to work with the un, us goverment or un stuff are some of the only open jobs that use your degree as far as i know. You may want to see a temp agency, as well as posting a resume on monster and trianglehelpwanted.com

There's a few "consulting" and research firms in RTP that do international commerce type stuff...Triangle Economic Research (TER), comes to mind but I know there's a few others. Accenture has stuff in the area that might work I think. It's government but you might look at the EPA as well, depending on what they have available you can prob start sooner than 6mos to a year.

then durham for 2 years

then raleigh for 6 years

so basically i lived there for the first 24 years of my life

You were talking about m-f 9-5 jobs...you might want to apply with NCSU University Temporary Services. Most of the jobs 'round here are m-f 8-5, so you might be able to get some sort of short-term administrative/secretarial position.
