k, so we have like 7000 lights in our yard, several strands on the roof, trees, bushes, and along the ground lining the driveway, sidewalk, etc (used stakes to keep them off the ground).
everything was just fine until last night when it started raining... i didn't notice it was raining so i didn't unplug them.... and then all of the sudden all the christmas lights went out. they aren't all in series. we used two plug-ins in the garage and then two outside the house. but they all went out. so methinks that the plugins are all wired through one gcfi we have in the garage and that tripped. so, couple of questions..... when i go home tonight, should i expect to see all 7000 of my lights fried? or maybe one strand? or maybe the fuses in the lights? or should i be ok? also, how long do i need to wait til i try to plug them in again once it has stopped raining? um and how can i avoid being electricuted when i give it a shot?
i thought i covered all the unused plugs with electrical tape and i also wrapped the strand connections... but i guess i missed one... shit. oh and all these are indoor/outdoor lights. 12/5/2005 3:27:52 PM |
