i've seen a couple girls in my life that look good with short hair...99% of them, however, do not. hooray for your individuality and nonconformist feelings of empowerment, but don't expect most guys to be attracted to you physically.

I had a discussion about this once.

A guy said that girls always complain about having long hair and all the chores that go along with it. But when guys have long hair, they never complain. That happens because when guys have long hair it's a choice. They do it because they want to. If they get tired of brushing it they can always go back to short and have no more problems.

But for a girl, having long hair is what you're supposed to do. You have to do it, or people think you're a militant lesbian of some kind. So of course some girls complain about maintaining long hair. They might prefer short, but feel pressured to keep it long and think it's a pain in the ass.

Girls who "maintain" long hair are usually doing more than washing and conditioning it. If you're spending an hour every morning straightening it or maintaining dye or highlights because you're a vain trollop that's something entirely different. My hair's two feet long and I consider it a luxury, not a chore.

I also think that people fall on a spectrum of "pressure" to make their bodies look aesthetically pleasing. I'm more affected by society's oppressive influence to wear deodorant than to wear and stuff a bra.

it was spunky

some girls look better with shorter hair bc of the shape of their face
or need short hair bc their hair is too stringy when it is long

i have a friend who has really thin fine hair and she feels like she has to have it long, when it looks much better short bc it actually has some body then

i am growing my hair out bc i have a really square jaw and i am hoping that having long hair will soften it up a bit

On a girl, short is chin length, medium is shoulder length, and long is anything longer. On guys short is buzzed, medium is enough to brush back and long is chin length.

I think it really depends on the girl. First depends on the shape of her face and how she got it cut. Second, it depends on how she carries herself. If you're an introvert or shy, getting an aggressive style to you hair is just going to make it look out of place.

For example, pinkpanther can get away with her hair either way because she's pretty cute to begin with, but also because of how she carries herself ( don't know if she remembers, but i met her on the wolfline a couple years back lol ). Anyway, that's my two cents

My wife had short hair in HS and I thought it was the hideous. We weren't dating back then, just knew her, but I was NOT a fan of the semi-boyish hairstyle she had. When I met her again after college she had shoulder length hair which I really liked. She convinced me a few months back to let her cut it short again but this time do it in a very professional and still feminine look. I straight up love it this time. She had some highlights put in it and it has a much pretty look to it than the bowl-cut it seemed like she had years ago. I really like it because, like pinkpanther said, it accents her face well. She's shorter and long hair makes her look like she has little or no neck. Now I can't really imagine her growing her back out!

So to surmise, some girls look better with longer hair and some girls look good with shorter hair, as long as it is a good style.

There's a point where hair on a female is so short that she looks like a guy. I can't stand that shit. I'm not attracted to men, and I sure as hell am not attracted to a girl that looks masculine.

The short hair in the pics above is still very feminine, and I still find that attractive.
