BC-MD game reminded me:
The game last year where we needed a game winning shot. Ball goes to bennerman in the corner. Bennerman shoots the 3, ball goes behind the backboard.
That was comically bad. 12/11/2005 10:21:31 PM |

I remember back when Bobby Hurley had just gotten a DUI. Every time he touched the ball, the students broke out in "99 bottles of beer on the wall...99 bottles of beer. Take one down, DRIVE AROUND TOWN, 98 bottles of beer on the wall". If he came out of the game... the students sitting behind the Duke bench leaned towards the bench and continuously rattled their keys until he got up to go back into the game. Repeat the process.
Man, our fans used to be so creative. Sure do miss the Reynolds Rowdies.... made the Cameron Crazies look like Sesame Street

SeaCat was classic... but I bet no one remembers this.
Who was the team we played.... probably around 1994-95 that had a guy on their team named "Seal". I remember every time he touched the ball, the entire crowd started doing the "urr urr urr" like a Sea Lion. Poor kid didn't score all night long 12/11/2005 10:30:42 PM |

Some others then I'm done....
-I remember a UNC game back when Jeff McInnis was supposedly really good *friends* with Phil Ford's wife. Someone in the student section had a huge sign that read "Hey Jeff, Have you ridden a Ford lately?"
-When Nigel "Big Jelly" Dixon was at FSU, someone in the Wolfpack Club one year had put a Big Mac box on a homemade fishing rod. During pregame warmups and layup drills, the guy "casted" the pole with the box out onto the floor in front of Big Jelly, and then started to pull the pole back to "reel it in". Nigel kinda laughed and grinned back at the guy.
-(Wasnt in our lifetime, but I was told about it) 1980 - Duke vs NCSU... Vince Taylor of Duke had just gotten pulled over for driving without a license. While shooting free throws.. the whole student section breaks out their supersized flashlights covered in blue Saran Wrap... spinning them around like police lights and screaming "Jailbird.. Jailbird". During this time the other half of the Wolfpack club was screaming like police sirens. Needless to say, he was 0-8 that night from the line
-I Remember one year we were playing UNC back when they were going through all of the legal issues with admitting Antawn Jamison, and when we hit 42 points the crowd all held up signs saying "We just surpassed Jamison's SAT score"...
-I also remember one game where the Student Wolfpack Club brought in a bunch of broomsticks with horse heads on them. There were a few signs being held up beside the broomsticks that read : "The Lang Family""
-Best Sign Ever
Referring to Kris Lang... made it onto ESPN

But funny moments in NCSU basketball.....2 years ago giving up a five point play to vandy in the tournament on our way to blowing the 10 point lead. I laugh now....but it wasnt so funny back then. I punched the bed on the top bunk like 8 times in my dorm room. Looking back at it, I'm lucky i didnt miss and break every bone in my hand. That was about the point when I stopped getting furious at NC State athletics. It took me half way through last year's football season to actually follow through with that idea though.

Or the technical foul becuase we took too long at the timeout to remove the chairs (Becuase for some reason, we put moveable chairs on teh court during timeouts for our players to sit instead of the traditional "pile around the coach" )12/11/2005 11:20:58 PM |

Something that sums up NC State basketball forever in my mind...03' game against the tarholes in Chapel Hole. Close game, Crawford brings the ball up court with no pressure, but takes ten seconds to do so. Something that you will never see again, kid had no clue, absolutely none. Every State fan in the building was saying "GOOO!!!" With no pressure, you usually see a player who's walking it up take 7 or less, something I just frankly have never forgotten...Also the meltdown in Chapel Hill in '96 in the last 3 minutes...Drew Nicholas burying us on Senior Night 03...the fact that out of our 6-7 or so opportunities to tie or win on last possession and we can't hit the rim on half of them between last year and Iowa this year...
CC Harrison got away with not one but two shady no calls, one mentioned by a poster above. The other was a road game in Littlejohn, I have no clue what year. End of game I think we're down 2. CC goes to the line for two with about 5 seconds left, sinks first one. Misses second one, but as soon as he realeses it he charges towards the rim, not waiting until the ball touches rim (free throw shooter must) and he tips in his own miss, refs completely missed an obvious call. Game over! 12/12/2005 12:36:25 AM |

yeah the game where State blew an 8 point lead in 60 seconds to lose to Carolina was the worst.
It was either Luke Buffum or Steve Norton that kept turning over the inbounds pass. COmpletely ridiculous.
The technical on the waterboy which prefaced a blown 20 point lead against maryland was a nice touch.
Kicking a field goal on 4th and 2 when we were down 7 in the closing minutes against Virginia Tech was awful ...oops my bad that was Chuck not Herb
But of all the things I think #1 was Adam Harrington making a sex tape for his boyfriend back home and then havnig the team find it. Even the assistant coaches got to see it.
and packbacker is right, Jeff McInnis did fuck phil ford's wife, thats why he left early.... other notables include Jerry Braswell (wake forest) fucking tony rutlands girlfriend and adam harrington fucking archie millers girlfriend... 12/12/2005 12:42:18 AM |

how about the time they put in Will Roach in the 1st half with us up by 19, and we proceeded to blow the lead. wasnt that in the ACC Tourney a couple years ago?
A friend of mine in HS claimed up and down that after the UNC game at Reynolds in 1984, Jordan took a swing at his dad as he was leaving the court.
How about anything involving Cornelius Williams or Ron Kelly?
Or the uniforms from the last 2 Les Robinson years?
