Zhanger, you really have to stop wasting all your time on the wolf web! As for real estate schools, you know I did the Bill Gahlager School of Real Estate. I'm not sure I'd recommend it, but check it out if you want. Follow up with me if you want to know more. Btw, do you want to know or does chipmonk?

P.S. It would be hard to do it in a couple of weeks--you need 60 hours.

I took the class from there and alot of people I know have. This school is by far the best one out there for preparing you for the test. Passing the test is all you will need from a school because none of them teach you anything you will need to know anyways. They have something like a 95% pass rate or something.

They have classes all over the state (including in Raleigh), but I think you will be hard pressed to find one you can take over a couple weeks.

^ Yep. Our real estate school is the best in the area. You can still be an agent with any company you want if you use the HPW school, but it's probably best to go with them for passing the exam (not to mention they have several different schedules to accomodate when you want to take classes).

If you want any more info or would like to talk to the people in charge for the full spiel, just let me know.

i am willing to bet money that wake tech has the highest pass rate....when i took the salesperson exam in june, i spoke to several people at the test site who had taken their classes at hpw, fonville, monk, etc...and they all said it was either their 2nd or 3rd time taking the test.

everyone that i knew pretty good in my salesperson class passed the state exam on the first try

here's the link to the hpw school external site:
https://secure.hpwreschool.com/

we even have online courses available (if you're good at math and want to do complete the class quickly it might work for you)

and as for how much it costs:
https://secure.hpwreschool.com/FAQ.aspx#How%20much%20does%20it%20cost

^ most people pass it on the first try. I know that HPW's rate is quite a bit better than the state average - we just have a lot more people come through than most places so there are a few more floating around that have to take it more than once. I just put in a call to find out exactly what the pass rates are and I'll post them when I get them for informational purposes.

statepkt...keep in mind that north carolina is going to an all broker state effective april 1, 2006. if you plan on taking the salesperson class, you need to do so immediately.

if you take the test ahead of the change, you will be a provisional broker come april 1 and only have to take a 24-hour transition course

if you don't take the test ahead of the change, i believe they are going to require a 75 hour prelicense course and an additional 90-hour course...

read all about it here http://www.ncrec.state.nc.us/pdf/brochures/SummaryofLawChanges&FAQs.pdf

Fonville Morrisey Real Estate School with Debbie Long...she's one of the best instructors in NC...won the instructor of the year award a couple times and she's one of only about 100 real estate instructors in the country with some special designation

I have to agree that FM is the best!! They have the highest passing rate out of all of the schools in the state. I'm not in real estate personally, but I know a lot of people in the company who are really great.

I would be leary of any school that does not give you a re-take on your class exam and here is why. Some of the schools in an effort to keep their pass percentages high make you retake the whole course if you dont pass your class exam the first time. This will put you out a wad of money and time. You are allowed a re-take on the state exam and should get one for the class exam as well.. The majority of people pass or fail by four questions or less.

If you have taken any business law courses it should help you because there is a lot of contract law that is covered.

I got my salesperson license about three years ago and got my brokers license last spring just in time for them to re write the laws.
