It's cheaper there, too.
But it's no surprise that the XBox lineup in general wouldn't appeal to the Japanese audience. 12/13/2005 11:55:46 AM |

Yeah... for some reason the japanese consumers don't seem to care about the nfl, nba, or mlb related games...
That's not even mentioning general cultural and gaming differences that gives rise to games like katamari damacy... 12/13/2005 12:03:32 PM |

There's really not much worth playing on the 360 right now.
Things will probably turn around (at least a bit) when DOA4 comes out.
Actually, Geometry Wars is fucking sweet.

Microsoft is so fucking stupid.
Hey lets release the console in limited numbers in the world so we can ship it to a country that doesn't give a fuck.
Then lets make sure the damn thing has techinical issues.
Great idea dickwads.
Shoulda given all those Xbox's to the US and actually made money. 12/13/2005 10:24:03 PM |

I was reading something earlier today that was talking about the xbox360 not really being meant to play games vertically. Alot of people have gotten scratched discs while playing it vertically. One guy claims that a M$ tech support guy told him the 360 was meant to stand up.
I'm like WTF because those fucking lights on the front of the box move depending on orientation. 12/13/2005 11:34:22 PM |

A quick glance at xbox360.com shows about three pictures of the system standing upright. 12/13/2005 11:55:05 PM |

I was told by an EB Games employee and XBox 360 owner that I should, under no circumstances, have the system standing vertically. 12/14/2005 2:21:49 AM |

I don't like putting any system vertical. My slim PS2 is laying flat in my entertainment center. Just seems like your asking for trouble.
This is why its also hard to sell cars over there. They have very serious brand/country loyalty. They'll scarf up the PS3 and Revolution by the boatloads, even if they are both huge turds. But it takes a lot to get them to try something new from the gaijin. 12/14/2005 6:48:25 AM |

I usually place my consoles upside down. Occasionally I will mount them to the wall or on some kind of upside down surface. The pros outway the cons. 12/14/2005 7:13:37 AM |

I haven't heard of any problems from simply playing the 360 vertically. The problems arise when you move it from vertical to horizontal while it is powered up. Which seems like a bit of an obvious no-no, but still something that should have been found and fixed before the launch.
Personally I've had mine in the vertical position (right next to my vertically positioned slimline PS2) since launch day, and I haven't had any issues with scratching or DREs. 12/14/2005 8:51:48 AM |

I'll be glad when the PS3 comes out also. All the "OMG!!!11!!1 teh ><b0xor has the bUgz and PS3 will rUL" crowd will be too busy playing to post crap on message boards.

No tentacle porn or yu-gay-oh big-eyed 21' sword RPGs for the x-box?
I'm sitting this generation out. I'll be a PC fanboy until a console shows marked improvement over its predecessor (slightly better graphics is not marked improvement).12/14/2005 10:20:55 AM |

The difference between the graphics of the original Call of Duty on the PC and Call of Duty 2 on the XBox 360 is nothing short of unholy. 12/14/2005 12:09:54 PM |

seriously though, if you look at some first gen ps2 titles and then some 360 titles in HD it is quite a big jump. doesnt seem as aparent as 2d sidescrollers to 3d titles, but it is a big jump.
look at doa2 vs doa4, ut vs q4, any racer vs pgr3. im sure the graphics will get more and more perty as it goes on. 12/14/2005 12:22:57 PM |

You can look at later gen PS2 games.
There are only like two games on that entire console that don't look like utter shit and even those don't compare to the 360. 12/14/2005 12:51:05 PM |
