I downloaded the trial and I got ti'll tuesday before I cancel (if i do). Before I buy, I want these questions answered:

1. the "draka" realm was full last night and I couldn't play until like 11:30 at night on a tuesday night. Is it always like that?

2. Once I reach level 60, is that pretty much it? time to start over?

3. I noticed the world map is literally HUGE in places that you can travel. So I can pretty much travel any where I want?

1) Dunno, I play on Greymane... no problems there.
2) You will have started alts long befor eyou hit 60. At 60 its gonna just be repeating specific raids, attaining epic gear, and PVP crap. Then again they could have the level cap raised by the time you get that high.
3) Sure, you can travel anywhere if you feel like running a lot. The gryphons only take you so far and you can't use them unless you visit the location first. Travel time/ease definitely needs some tweaking.

i hear they are adding teleport pads you can carry with you that will teleport you to an town on the map, regardless of faction or you having been there before.

you should have posted this question in the thread in entertainment

There's a few of us on Medivh in one guild (Genesis). Our server gets a little "full" at around 9pm on weeknights. But, the longest wait I've heard from guildmates was under 15 min. I've never had to wait longer than a few min.

I'm almost lvl 60 with my main (DE Hunter). However, I have alts to cover every profession (just to cover lower-level stuff), and really the main reason I made them.

I will probably be switching to another main alt though. Due to hunters being very prolific and the guild needing other classes for some of the bigger raids. Won't stop running my main, just will choose depending on the situation.

unless they added assloads of content it was boring as hell at 60. each patch you might find 1 extra thing to do, but it takes no time to get to 60 and then its boring. pvp always finds a way to be gay as well, but shrug. i enjoyed it, but not enough to level multiple characters or do the same things another 100 times.

Every few weeks Blizzard adds brand new realms that would have no wait times at all to get on. Just look for some of the ones listed as New or Low population, as long as you're not concerned about being on the same server as some people you know; the servers that most TWW'ers are on tend to be fairly large now though, because a lot of us have been playing for a long time.

dont know anything about the game, but i saw something in the slickdeals forums earlier about it being 29.99, or 19.99 somewhere after rebate. I'd post the link, but their server is busy or something.

1. Depends on server. Never had a login queue on the server I play on.

2. Join a raiding guild and raid, go PVP and play battlegrounds all day, or yeah, it's over. So take your time getting to 60 and enjoy the ride.

3. Anywhere that's not too steep to climb or too deep to swim, you can go. I've swum around the continents before, just because I could.

okay some more questions:

1. what happens if I go to some land that the opposite race controls? do I fight them? can I go into their towns?

2. I see so many jobs I can apprentice. Mining, etc. Is it really worth the time to master those?

1) This all depends on rather or not you play on a PVP server. If you're on a PVP server, expect a fight. If you're on a PVE server, you can look cast surly looks at one another unless you wander into a capital. I personally like playing on a PVP server. The 2 factions hate one another and are at constant war. Thus, I think everyone should act like it and fight all the time. On a PVE server, the worst thing you can do to the other side is spit on them. Kind of pansy if you ask me. It's a fun game and worth the money I think.

2) You can have 2 on the main professions (i.e. alchemy, leather working, blacksmithing, etc...) and all 3 of the secondary professions (fishing, cooking, firstaid). You're professions can really complement your character class if you put the time into them. I'm a fan of herb/alc, mining/engineering, and tailoring/enchanting.

Other advice/info:

Play on a newer realm that's in your timezone.

There's loads to do at 60. In fact, you can't really enjoy half the game until you hit 60.

The world is big and you can go anywhere you want. You'll just want to make sure you can handle the local wildlife trying to eat you. At level 60 you can travel across 98% of the planet without major worry.

Depends on the server. Mal'Ganis isn't ever really full but is always crowded enough to cause random lag spikes. Other, lighter realms have no problems.

2. Once I reach level 60, is that pretty much it? time to start over?

Some people really like the leveling aspect of the game and they tend to start over at 60. Other people go on to raid end game content and get their main character geared up. Epic gear completely transforms the way your character feels and plays and makes you a power in battlegrounds. Thats the incentive for running otherwise boring endgame content. With the new patch and expansion though, end game content is getting a lot better. Zul Gurub, for instance, is a very fun instance as each of the bosses have their own little gimmicks needed to defeat them, rather then just increasing HP and making battles last a long time.

3. I noticed the world map is literally HUGE in places that you can travel. So I can pretty much travel any where I want?

Yes and no. The world is designed around the level cap. At level 60 you can travel everywhere you want but at a low level you will be limited to your starting area. If you travel outside that, you will draw almost every world monster within a set radius on top of you. Exploring the world is fun though, and definitely got a kick out of seeing famous Warcraft landmarks the first few months I had the game.

^ thats pretty much a good assessment.

I am on one of the lighter realms Gilneas(PvE) and I have yet to see any kind of queue and lag spikes are few and far between.

Onet hing about PvE is that you have the option of being in PvP mode all of the time or you can turn it off. Its more customizable to your play style. You lose the sense of danger but gain that aspect of control.

And no, you cant change realms right now. Occasionally they offer transfers but only from designated servers to designated servers. They will eventually allow you to request transfers for a fee, or so i hear.

1. what happens if I go to some land that the opposite race controls? do I fight them? can I go into their towns?

PVP vs PVE was already covered. Regardless of which type of server you are on, you will most likely be attacked by the other-side's NPCs. In some towns you can fight them off and win, in others they are high level elite guards and you'll need help to win.

On a PVE-server, if you attack an NPC that is flagged on the other team, you will automatically flag yourself into PVP mode. Then the other side's PC's can attack you if they choose. (And they will get flagged if they do.)

2. I see so many jobs I can apprentice. Mining, etc. Is it really worth the time to master those?

It's all in what you enjoy. I play multiple characts so I can do all of the trades to some degree. Some are better than others. The gathering skills in particular are good for raising cash. (Mining, Herbalism and Skinning)

Can you switch from a PVE to a PVP server?

Not without starting the character over on the new server. Or just keep characters on both.

Delete your character's folder, should be somewhere under you \World of Warcraft\WTF\ directory.

if you link the throwing weapon slot to your action bar and use the hotkey (within the correct distance) you'll throw the weapon.

guild wars was okay, but apparently WoW is much much better and well worth the massive cost

Find a server thats low/medium and you wont have waits.

God willing you will never be able to move a char for pve (easy mode) to pvp (medium mode). If you want to play on pvp server, just make a character there.

Theres tons of L60 content, that included but are not limited to

2 40 man raid instances
1 40 man quick raid instance
1 20 man raid instance
6 outdoor raid bosses
4 5 man group instances
1 10-15 man group instance
3 pvp battle grounds (10v10 ctf, 15v15 teritory control, 40v40 base raiding)
Faction fun
