i have a tiny chip in my windsheild that i need to repair before it starts to crack, etc. i called GEICO because they'll fix it for free, etc and they said it *probably* wouldnt effect my rates at all. so wtf.

so maybe ill give DIY a shot. any experience? its so small i almost dont notice it now and its right in front of my face.. so a big glob of sealant would be a problem. but do any DIY kits work nice and are really transparent?

yes but you need a sunny day or a uv light to cure the solution

^ what he said...

...DIY window repair kit is the shizzle! Wish I had pics to prove it, but it works. My windshield had about a 1/2" bulls-eye crack, now it's barely noticable. You can see a faint outline of a small circle, but only if you're like 6 inches away staring at it.

For your information the "fix" that ALL glass shops use is the exact same shit you buy for the diy, one trick is to heat glass slightly from inside with a lighter to get any bubbles out and then retry.

This was what a friend who is a glass guy told me while doing my truck

Well, the wifey called and said she got a chip in her windshield this morning. Is there any particular brand anybody has seen to work better than any others? Where's the best place to get said brand? Thanks!!
