JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!! FIRE THESE FUCKERS!!!
Quote : | "House votes for Christmas traditions
Richmond Times-Dispatch Dec 15, 2005
WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives overwhelming adopted today a Virginian's resolution to protect Christmas trees, Santa Claus, candy canes, and other symbols and traditions of Christmas.
By a vote of 401 to 22, lawmakers endorsed the "sense of the House" resolution proposed by Rep. Jo Ann Davis, R-1st District, as Congress neared its winter recess. A resolution doesn't bear the same weight as a law but it stirred sharp debate.
"Christmas has been declared politically incorrect!" Davis warned. "The push toward a neutered 'holiday' season is stronger than ever so that no one could even be the slightest bit offended."
"What really needs to be protected are not the symbols of Christmas, but rather the spirit of Christmas," said Rep. Robert C. Scott, D-3rd. That spirit demands generosity and goodwill, he said, not "mean-spirited attacks" on the needy that were contained in a recent budget bill." |
Dumbest bunch of fucks. Fox News runs the US.

Congress does this kind fo shit all the time. And the people who don't go along with it get dragged through the mud. On the bright side, it does force them to not vote on giving themselves raises for at least an hour. 12/16/2005 12:54:38 PM |

Now you see why the founders put the capitol and congress in the middle of a malarial swamp. With no air conditioning in the summer, lawmakers didn't hang around all year.
I say take the AC out of the capitol building. If you give them too much time in session, they will keep coming up with dumb stuff like this. 12/16/2005 11:08:38 PM |

I bet when you all were kids, you would flip out if your parents didn't buy you stuff for Christmas. Now you are complaining about people buying stuff for Christmas.
I love getting gifts, and I thank Christmas for it. Without Christmas, I don't think my parents would have bought me anything
But, this resolution is idiotic. 12/17/2005 9:55:58 AM |

Twas a week before Christmas and all through the House, no bills were passed 'bout which Fox News could grouse. Tax cuts for the wealthy were passed with great cheer, so vacations in St. Barts soon should be near.
Katrina kids were all nestled snug in motel beds, while visions of school and home danced in their heads. In Iraq, our soldiers need supplies and a plan, and nuclear weapons are being built in Iran.
Gas prices shot up, consumer confidence fell. Americans feared we were in a fast track to ... well. Wait, we need a distraction, something divisive and wily, a fabrication straight from the mouth of O'Reilly.
We will pretend Christmas is under attack, hold a vote to save it, then pat ourselves on the back. Silent Night, First Noel, Away in the Manger, Wake up Congress, they're in no danger.
This time of year, we see Christmas everywhere we go, From churches to homes to schools and, yes, even Costco. What we have is an attempt to divide and destroy when this is the season to unite us with joy.
At Christmastime, we're taught to unite. We don't need a make-up reason to fight. So on O'Reilly, on Hannity, on Coulter and those right-wing blogs.
You should sit back and relax, have a few egg nogs.
'Tis the holiday season; enjoy it a pinch. With all our real problems, do we really need another Grinch? So to my friends and my colleagues, I say with delight, a Merry Christmas to all, and to Bill O'Reilly, Happy Holidays.
Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas 12/17/2005 10:04:33 AM |
