hm..i agree with him in that larry the cable guy is stupid. but he seems to be hung up on this "Christians are stupid" thing. not all stupid people are Christians, and not all Christians are stupid. and i'm sure not every fan of larry the cable guy is christian, and i'm sure not all all of them are stupid. just seemed to be a little over-emphasized for not coming up anywhere in the quotes he was basing his argument on.

mr. show went off voluntarily. bob and david didnt want it to get stale. plus it never really had a solid time slot.

i read this last week and was gonna post it here, but i put it in my LJ instead and forgot to. i love how larry, who is really just some boring white bread middle class guy from nebraska, tries to call out david for not knowing anything about the south when davids from fuckin' roswell ga, and that place is hicksville, USA. This was seriously the best thing I've read all year. And the "Christians are stupid" thing: hes Jewish/Atheist, and its been in his act since before Mr. Show. I'm Christian and I'm not offended, he calls out the right people for being stupid and overzealous.

i didnt mean to imply i was offended by it. i'm a christian and i couldnt care less if he thinks christians are stupid. it just seemed a bit much and unnecessary. knowing its part of his act, it makes more sense. of course that also seems to make it a bit of a hypocrisy to say that about christians but then call larry the cable guy out for saying stupid things about muslims. but who isnt a hypocrite these days.

A friend of my dad's works at the Washington Duke and saw Larry the Cable Guy after a show. Apparently, Dan Whitney cleans up quite well, to the point of not being recognizable.

Brilliant letter; unfortunately, in the last third of it he (Cross) starts coming off as the stereotypical cynical left-wing high-and-mighty liberal that he worked so hard in the first two thirds to distinguish himself from.
