I still think that Hillary is the polar opposite of McCain in terms of their political situations. That is, she might breeze through the primaries, then be rejected by the general population, whereas McCain would probably meet insurmountable resistance in the primaries but would otherwise be welcomed with open arms by the people. 12/21/2005 1:33:20 AM |

If Sen. McCain could get the GOP nod, we could just save ourselves the trouble and not even bother having the general election, because he'd whoop it on like Reagan on Mondale (ESPECIALLY if Sen. Clinton was his opponent. It might set a new record.)
but...that's a big "if".

well, if the true conservatives are as united as they claim, wont they be organized enough to stop the hated "RINO"?
personally, i think McCain is the only candidate that could stem the tide of extreme political dichotomy right now. 12/21/2005 3:00:06 AM |
theDuke866 All American 52839 Posts user info edit post |
haha, the GOP is hardly united. The GOP is a loose conglomeration of different factions who only associate at all for one reason--they aren't Democrats. To simplify, it's the Religious Right, and everyone else who has to cozy up to them to get anything done.
and I've never understood why McCain has been labeled as a RINO. Actually, I do, but it's not because of his ideology. Sen. McCain is pretty firmly conservative--it's just that he notoriously bucks the party line and/or publically criticizes fellow Republicans (with his campaign finance reform support being one of the things that a lot of Republicans really hate. For example, my dad will tell you "I think it's a good idea in that something needs to be done, but I think it will hurt the GOP, and for that reason alone, I wouldn't vote for McCain in a primary.) 12/21/2005 3:10:18 AM |

McCain is a conservative, in the early 90s sense of the world (small gov.).
I've never heard him termed a "RINO" though (did you mean rhino, like the animal?).

Nephew (named also George Bush... middle name Prescott). He's Jeb's son. He's an incredibly dynamic speaker and more charismatic than anyone in the Bush family. He's still young... I think in his mid-twenties. If he hasn't graduated already, he's in Law School. I saw him on tv doing speeches for his uncle during the campaign. If the "Bush" name doesn't kill him, he'll be President one day.
His niece, Lauren Bush, daughter of the lesser known of the W siblings, is HOT AS HELL! She's a Ralph Lauren model. Incredibly hot. I'd vote for her.

In all seriousness, if the kid doens't end up like his sister (the crack whore) he'll be our first latino President.
And I'm voting for him.

And ban all political advertising. That's a bigger part than the campaign finance issues.
Apparently the man is corruptible, so much so that he had to introduce legislation re-writing the Bill of Rights to make sure some big bad special interest didn't buy him off...
