I am visiting home and seeing that I have 2 fish left in a 29 gallon tank. 1 pleco which has grown quite a bit to be 6-8 inches and a zebra danio. I have left them with no heater and a filter that is very sub par. My mom feeds them when she remembers. Yet they're still alive.
I don't want to flush them because they've obviously decided to be hardcore and live this long through rough conditions. Where can I take them? Does petsmart do any kind of buy back? I thought about taking them to a fish store... but I don't want anymore fish. A couple bucks would be nice to pick up something for the degus or something... but not necessary. I am just trying to clean up my room and make things easier for my parents (no more feeding of filling water). 12/24/2005 4:32:36 PM |

try putting an ad in classifieds...if you haven't already...lots of people on here have aquariums and I'm sure someone would adopt them. 12/24/2005 6:08:53 PM |

I hate people like this who buy pets like they are underwear, and then one day decide:

I have no problem with people giving their fish away, especially when they're giving them to me. 12/24/2005 11:27:43 PM |

creep... i find it ironic that you capitalize "he" and then use "His" name in such a context. i'm sure you have no flaws though... props on casting the stone 12/24/2005 11:58:27 PM |

It's not like one day I decided I don't want them anymore. They're at my parents house and I think there's a better place they could be kept at (hence giving them away). I love fish and maintained my own reef tank for a while. I don't have the time or the space to bring it back to school with me.
I am in North Raleigh and will be here until Tuesday evening. If we can setup a time... I could give them away if you can come get them.
The pleco mainly hides under this fake tree root in the tank. He comes out when it thinks you're not looking. I saw it today spread out... very healthy looking fish. Actually looks to be about 6-8". PM if you're interested and the size of the tank/type of fish you have and hopefully we can work something out. I am sure my mom will have no argument with me giving the fish away... doubt she had any attachment. 12/25/2005 12:56:45 AM |

Maybe I'll bring them back with me and sell them back to fish pros or something.
^I know what you mean... these are probably coming from people who have been lectured for throwing out their cats or dogs 12/26/2005 5:27:41 PM |

I think Fish Pro's stopped buying large fish for the time being. Plus, you'll probably won't get more than $2 for the pleco. 12/26/2005 5:48:13 PM |

Hmm... so is anyone in Raleigh this week to take these off my hands? I could bring them back Tuesday night... but you'd have to take them then (as I don't have an aquarium setup at my apartment. I'm not even sure how to transport the large pleco... 12/26/2005 5:50:00 PM |

No problem...wanst really sure if it was a good idea to feed the pleco to the catfish anyway.....Im sure fish pros will take them. I just figured using them as feeders was a better option then flushing them. 12/26/2005 8:36:39 PM |
