is it true that you're not allowed to rent a hotel room unless you're 21. 12/25/2005 12:51:29 PM |

if you have the money they'll usually rent to you. i was able to rent hotels when i was 19 and 20, but i also had credit... I think that made a difference, not sure. 12/25/2005 1:51:23 PM |

i just used a check card, which i guess was good enough for them since they just got the money faster 12/25/2005 2:03:37 PM |

They charge your card for a few nights stay and then refund it, so it may be tied to your credit that way. 12/25/2005 6:43:20 PM |

I've booked about three hotels before and I'm not 21 yet. It's completely up to the hotel. 12/25/2005 7:37:52 PM |

^x4 i believe most hotels prefer a credit card as opposed to cash in case you wreck the place.

I think i rented one at the farfield inn on capital when i was under 18. I had a check card tho.
I dont think its really a law that you have to be 21. I think most beach hotels want 21 & up because they think you will fuck up the room. This is a false stereotype though because you can fuck up a room just as bad if your over 21 (probably worse). 12/29/2005 10:54:17 AM |

From what I've observed, many hotels at the beach care, as mentioned. Most others do not. 12/29/2005 11:19:24 AM |

Hotels do not do credit checks...... the age is 18 unless it is a very ritzy place....... as long as you have a credit card, you can have a hotel room (or even a check card) to make the reservation. You can pay cash but if you do not have a CC on file, most require a deposit of some sort 12/30/2005 1:21:56 AM |

You can rent a hotel anywhere if you do it online with a credit or check card because they do not ask your age... they could find out from a card company, but as long as they get their money I don't think they care. I've been renting hotels since high school and never once had a prob. 12/30/2005 1:49:58 AM |

^^^^ exactly
I have had a few problems at the beach. Really though we did not want to stay at a place that uppity anyway. The best was the time the owner came to our room when we were packing our shit up and was like "do u mind if i take look in there before you check out" (i guess there were noise complaints) We had already checked out so I was like sure. He started through the door and elijah was like "dont mind the dead hooker in the closet" right then he saw the inside of the room and started screaming what I assume were obscenities in whatever middle eastern language he spoke. When he came out of the room again he screamed "i call the law on you!!!!, you wont even make it to that stop sign" "look what you did!!!!!!!!".
I just called and reported my CC lost while we were driving home to avoid any cleanup/damage charges. 12/30/2005 9:07:28 AM |
