my brother told me that if i take out the factory radio in a 99 Civic the overhead light won't work anymore. True? I'd like an mp3 compatible cd changer (play mp3 CDs)

Also what would you recommend for a dash cd receiver. Basically I would like to have an AUX input for possible expansion in the back and a couple of preouts. I won't have a sub (maybe ever) or amps for a while but would like to have it just in case. A remote that clips onto the steering wheel would be nice but i'd like a multiple band EQ more than that. MP3 compatible, don't care about sat radio already had it and didn't use it. I know its standard on some that you can buy an additional box for radio if I want to anyway (when they say "ready").

Thanks

actually, come to think of it. SandSantahad a green civic. not sure what year, but he pushed his stock CD player back to make room for his aftermarket one.

perhaps it had something to do with this. i forgot though.

PM him

according to that article that is why. However it says up to 1998 just wondering if it applies to a 1999. I'll wait for more people to see this thread before continuing (or I'll ask at whatever store I get a deck from)

I have keyless and everything- got to decide b/w nice stereo and that if it does affect a 99 model
