ok, so i know there are other topics on this, and i tried to bring them back, but they are too old.

My Grandmother gave me this game for x-mas so im just trying it out, but i have been an avid '05 gamer.

HERE ARE MY MAIN GRIPES ABOUT THIS GAME:

The QB vision: It sucks and it is far to complicated to control the left buttons right joysticks, the d-pad for pass precision, the buttons for the receiver and be able to throw the ball away if you get into trouble. You need every fucking button to complete a 20 yard pass. Retarded. Not to mention the fact that you can't take off the QB vision when playing online.

The "New" Buttons: Why in God's name would they change the way the buttons have been for the past 15 fucking years?!?!? O has always been sprint on defense, now it changes players. So now while i am trying to catch up to a running back to make a tackle, instead i switch back to a guy 15 yards away. BULLSHIT!

I have always been really good at Madden games, especially 05, but i cant seem to get a feel for this game, its just to busy. 2005 took the game and enhanced everything, 2006 just completely changed everything around...and i hate it.

anyone else have this same sentiment?

The QB Vision is pretty nice once you get the hang of it. Like if your runnig a fade into the endzone and the pass has to be in the spot right infront of the WR. I dont usually use it unless im running a play like that.

the QB Vision is just the cone that comes from the QB to show where he is looking. The Precision is using the d-pad to determine where you want the ball.

I HATE IT. You have to turn the cone towards the receiver if you want an accurate throw, itsd just Horseshit.

I will however, play (and lose) to anyof you fools if you want to play online sometime.

you do know that a trigger button can also be used to direct the QB cone, right?

hold the R button (on xbox) and press the button of the receiver you want to look at. it will "zero in" the vision on the guy... QB vision is actually pretty awesome, i think... it makes things mroe fair.. in real life a QB has to look off a safety, and it makes playing defense easier because without vision you just have to choose which of four receivers to defend.

also, pass precision can also be controlled by the same joystick that you control your quarterback with. step up in the pocket and hold up too much, and you'll definitely throw it over your receivier's head.

give it time and read the instructions, its a good change in time.

I think it was a great idea to have X be speed burst on offense and defense.

And you can just turn off the precision passing. I don't use it and I do fine.

thats really the only way i play these games.

and mine in on PS2, so i dont think i have a "trigger" button

Yeah just hold R and then tap the button of the receiver you want to look at, and the field vision zeros in on them. And precision passing is great once you start using it effectively.

I just hate the fact that taping R twice pump fakes, don't know how many times I've shot myself in the foot be pump faking when I meant to throw it up, haha.

I know the R-button thing works for the XBox, not sure if it's the same for the PS2.

regardless though, you dont have time to "tap the button" for all of the receivers, i tried that shit and got sacked on an unusually consistent basis.

i understand wanting to have a nice realistic effect to the game, but damn.

i bet $20 that Madden 07 somehow goes back towards its 2005 gameplay.

on playstation 2 it is one of the right shoulder buttons.
seriously, give it some time. it's a huge gameplay change but worth it.

changing the "sprint" button and making it so you don't have to toggle for a quarterback run is also better once you're used to it. it makes easier to just dodge a little rush and get outside the pocket.

O has always been sprint on defense, but it was change players before the huddle, which i have to admit, always confused me the first month or so i got back into the swing of playing madden... also... why not have sprint be the same thing on both sides of the ball? it just makes sense.

I like field vision, you can look off the safetys very effectively if you use it right which helps. It also works well if you're throwing a little dump pass to your RB as well.

Rivers has a nice field vision radius on my game now.

And precision passing is just like it is in NCAA. You push left, they throw it farther left, you push right, they throw farther right. You press forward and they throw it ahead of them, you pull back and he throws it short. Not sure why that would bother you, I tend to throw most of my stuff deep/high anyway.

i think the QB vision is awesome, makes it a LOT more realistic, because you actually have to simulate the QB FINDING THE OPEN RECEIVER prior to throwing to him.

Haven't even played Madden, but I loved the change in the sprint button in NCAA--it's so much better to have it consistent between offense and defense this year.

i think everybody was frustrated for the first day or two that you have the game, but after that you get the hang of it, and the more you play it, the easier it gets, so quit bitchin and play the damn game

You cant do that when you are playing online, which as i said, is mainly what i do.

yeah, the first time I played madden 06 I threw like eight INTs in one game. Now it's rare that I ever throw 2. you just gotta get the hang of it.
