making it from scratch is pretty time consuming, but if you have any stores that sell indian food, they should have 'em frozen.
But if you want to try from scratch:

seems boring. but emeril's recipe looks pretty tasty.
Quote : | "6 eggs, hard boiled, cooled, and peeled 1/4 cup mayonnaise 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar 1 teaspoon finely chopped chives Hot pepper sauce Paprika Salt and pepper Variation: add 1 teaspoon chopped canned jalapeno peppers 4 radicchio leaves, for garnish 3 parsley sprigs, for garnish
Place the cooked egg yolks in a bowl. Using a fork, work the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, chives, and salt and pepper into the yolks to form a smooth paste. Taste. Place 1/2 of this mixture in a small pastry bag with a large star tip. To the remaining mixture, add the jalapenos and season with Hot pepper sauce. Fill 6 of the egg halves with the basic filling. Fill the pastry bag with the jalapeno filling. Fill the remaining egg white halves. Top with paprika. Place on a platter on the radicchio leaves, and parsley sprigs. " |

crab cakes!!! and crab dip 12/28/2005 4:27:14 PM |

A simple and good bean dip that I make pretty often:
16oz velveeta w/jalapenos 1 can chopped green chiles (real small can, maybe 2-4 oz) 1 can refried beans (15oz or thereabouts)
spray the inside of a crock pot with Pam. Cut the velveeta block into cubes and dump it all into the crock pot and cook on high for about 30-45 min, stirring it up occasionally.
eat w/tortilla chips and lipitor. 12/28/2005 4:31:31 PM |

hmmm i might could do crab cakes with remoulade.... never tried tho. but if i do that, then no crawfish and crab pies.
maybe add whiskey balls as a dessert
argh decisions, decisions.
i think i'd like: 2 (maybe 3) meat dishes a couple of more veggie based dishes a cheese dish (like the blintzes) then 2-3 dessert type dishes
i'd like them all to be finger food type (less mess for me in the morning!)

Cheese cutlets are excellent finger food. Serve with ketchup, dip or some hot sauce. 12/28/2005 4:42:53 PM |

for dessert, go with something like caramel or a souffle or custard. 12/28/2005 4:44:52 PM |

If you have the means to make both of these, put them together, and you have cheesecake chocolate fondue like at the melting pot.
