I drive a 2000 Malibu, there is a problem with the speakers (three don't work). My car takes 4x6 and 6x9. When I tried to ask my brother (the culprit of 3 not working), he told me to get 6.5 components for the back. I realize this would make my car sound better, but right now I just need something a little nicer than stock (hell, I'd take stock that worked!) that is cheap, and I can preferably get installed pretty easily. Advice is appreciated! 12/31/2005 3:27:00 PM |

install should be pretty easy.
you can get speaker harnesses from best buy and circuit city (the install dept) and make it a plug-n-play operation 12/31/2005 4:05:12 PM |

Door speakers are pretty easy to replace. Rear speakers might be a little more trickier, but still, very doable. 1/3/2006 2:13:42 AM |

dont' spend your money on the rear speakers, put the nicer speakers up front where u sit.personally i would just replace them with some pioneers which can be had for pretty cheap. 1/3/2006 1:51:19 PM |

will a stock headunit be able to power these speakers? Does it not have to have a high sensitivity? or low RMS range or something? 2/28/2006 11:20:05 AM |

you can get a pair of decent pioneers or sony's for around $60-80 that will still sound good if you upgrade you headunit later. 2/28/2006 12:13:05 PM |

Hit up Crutchfield.com. Find speakers that are a factory fit, see what's on sale, and you should be good to go. 2/28/2006 4:40:56 PM |

Do the three speakers not work, or are they blown. That is two different things. 2/28/2006 8:03:05 PM |

i have a 98 malibu and im looking to replace my front door speakers too. im gonna pick up $80 (pair) pioneers. how does this stupid door come off? 3/3/2006 2:46:10 PM |

should be a screw behind the door pull handle then pop off the window/ door lock switch trim piece, one screw under there. pop off the little trim piece in the upper corner near the side view mirror, and check for two screws along the bottom edge of the panel, then slide it straight up and pull out.
