I'm thinking that it won't make much difference, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that compares different brands of oil filters. I have a 2005 F-150 and I put Mobil 1 in it when I changed the oil for the first time and used a Motorcraft filter.

I've seen stuff about Fram and a guy that used to work for us worked for a while at an oil filter plant in fayetteville and he said that a lot of the brands came off the same line and were just painted different. I was wondering who made the motorcraft filters and if there was any scientific comparisons on the internet

Either NAPA Gold or Car Quest (again, premium WIX)...

I will use Purolator if I can't get to either or the above.

But for the big'uns I'll use either WIX, Donaldson, or Baldwin.

stick with the motorcraft filters. they're great and well made.

most are made by purolator with nice upgrades.

he's right to a point. wal-mart supertech, STP, Mobil 1, K&N filters are all produced by Champion Labs. the only differences are filter material and anti-drainback gasket material.

look at the stampings on the bottom of the filter, they'll be pretty similar.
