statistically this year the Giants ends of Strahan and Umenyiora were better this season. Its bulletin board material. They will settle it on the field Sunday. 1/5/2006 6:54:45 PM |

with each one of them being superstars..i think this sorta thing jus affects them as much..even if they dont say it or show it.. i think it jus comes down now to proving a point..remember we r talkin abt sack leaders of this season vs. sack leaders over the past few yrs.. 1/5/2006 6:59:18 PM |

well i think tiki barber is gonna rush for 100 (no big runs max 10-12 yds tackled by the secondary) but manning is gonna get picked twice..steve smith 100+ yards 2 td's, deshawn 79 banged up yards, peppers+rucker 3 sacks..panthers by a td over the giants..
look out -for panthers to fake the blitz cause they are gonna be watching out for tiki.. - bad reads by manning.. -for the only 2 big plays from the giants..by plaxico - for a lot of foster banging up..but doing so to set up the play action and big plays by smith(on second downs) --2 fumbles by delhomme as usual blind side sacks
more later

Your run defense isn't as good as you think it is.

I love how Panthers fans are all on this "LOL ELI IS SO HORRIBLE WE HAVE A HUGE ADVANTAGE" thing
When like the only thing Delhomme is better than Manning at is completion percentage.

I'm so torn about this game. I really don't like the Giants and I can't say I'm a fan of the Panthers.
Actually, so long as Barber runs for over 100 yards, I'll be a happy camper. 1/5/2006 7:30:23 PM |

if Steve Smith has a game on par with his season average then the Panthers will lose the game
he has to have another breakout performance for the offense to keep up 1/5/2006 7:35:03 PM |

Delhomme is better in the red zone than Eli.
Eli has like 15 picks in the red zone. 1/5/2006 7:49:23 PM |

I believe Delhomme has a bit more playoffs experience than Eli also
And you're right about the panthers run defense. their run D is only fourth best in the league afterall.

I heard Peppers' response...he basically said "well he's not lining up in front of me so it doesnt really matter...cause I know he wouldnt say that if he was lining up in front of me"
hey Stein, you know one thing thats worse than the Panthers' run defense? The Giants' secondary
Steve Smith will have more yards than Tiki 1/6/2006 9:41:14 AM |

TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148457 Posts user info edit post |
he is somewhat overrated, or perhaps, unproven
Sure he came in as a rookie and led his team to the playoffs
But they also had an extra home game and a great RB and some good receivers 1/6/2006 10:12:20 AM |

I think the Panthers will win by a couple scores, maybe 27-17 or 24-13. Their run defense is one of the best in the league. The day Julius Jones had should be considered an anomaly. Tiki might reach 100 yards, but he won't get many more than that and he probably won't be the deciding factor in this game. IMO it will come down to which QB makes the least number of mistakes.
The Panthers have only played 2 bad games all year, in loses to TB and Chicago. Their other 3 losses were mostly bad luck, 2 on last second FGs and the other on the running into the kicker call against Dallas in which they had the game won(which also cost them the division). Carolina is a better team than their record would indicate. 1/6/2006 8:20:14 PM |

i would say his call was a good one
especially with the way our season went
and the way we were blocking for tiki
the panthers just did a great job of staying disciplined
and a great scheme by fox

God, the Giants played like shit.
Congratulations, if you guys play that way from here on out, you have a very good shot of making the Super Bowl.
My favorite statistic of the whole game was when they put up Manning's stat line, and it's 4/8 in the second half with 3 INTs
Which means that (assuming they consider INTs as incompletions still) that he threw one pass at that point that wasn't caught by somebody.1/8/2006 4:06:41 PM |
