Kalinga is teaching sub-saharan African History...
Degrand is teaching Diplomatic European History...
Anybody had either professor? 1/5/2006 8:43:22 PM |

I had Kalinga for western african history. Some advice I could give you is just make sure you go to class and be on time. He is a real stickler if you show up late or much less show up to class at all. The class i took had to take home tests (i thought he graded really easy; didnt get less than an A-) and then the final exam which consisted of one essay question. He is a professor that just like to get it done. No BS what so ever and he is more than willing to help explain topics in more detail if you dont understand. I dont know anything about Degrand but i would recommend Kalinga. 1/5/2006 11:06:32 PM |

have you had Luria for 411? That spot just opened too. He looks like a cooler guy than Degrand. 1/6/2006 9:13:11 PM |

I never had Degrand, but Kalinga was very interesting. He's definitely a no-nonsense professor when it comes to attending class and showing respect, but his grading was fairly easy and he genuinely cared about the subject and helping students learn. 1/6/2006 10:43:39 PM |
