Fells was a good QB in high school from what I hear. Option w/ him and Baker/Brown/Blackman would be awesome.

Yeah Grant is awful...at least some games last year he helped out some and even started a few.

Grant aint the reason we lost, but he has never made "the" play in a game either. He has hit some wide open threes before, but I've seen kids in middle school rec leagues hit open threes. He can get to the basket, but finishes less than half the time, but some people like to point out how awesome the point blank shots he less than half the time makes are so "crucial." I also considered the fact he might be in a point shaving scandel. How on earth could a player make two (not shooting the three and dribbling inside the 3 line, and kicking it with no time) mistakes inside of 5 seconds?? That was by far more clueless than Webber's technical timeout.

and the reason people give him the benefit of the doubt on drives is because he's the only one who has demonstrated the ability to get to the rack. He's not going to miss the close shots forever.

That's the catch, a team that is forced to play GG in crunch time trailing would NEVER make the championship game

Also, a player who continually makes bonehead plays is going to get the grunt of fans/media for each subsequent error. If Bennerman/Bethel/Evtimov etc. had done that we'd ride him for a day or two, as was the case with Bethel tackling Dockery on the eventual 6 point possession. GG has made it a habit therefore fans are looking for it, and it usually doesn't turn out well for us, just the way it goes.

he has NOT demonstrated the ability to get to the rack.

He just dribbles into the lane out of control and gets lucky to be fouled or turns the shit over on a walk or a steal.

Gavin sucks....put in Fells, I feel that he gives us a better shot at not sucking.

Maybe 5% of this loss was gavin. The other 95% was shitty defense by the rest of the team. Brackman and simmons had a combined 8 points and 908239048290 points scored on them.

Oh don't get me wrong, GG wasn't the reason we lost, but Fells deserves a shot, I really want to see practice, Fells must do some terribly awful things. GG is now a Soph, who actually got PT last year, these trends will not end, people waiting for the "development" are waiting for something that isn't going ot happen IMO.

Also, send a memo out to ACC coaches and see who they would rather have , Atsur or GG, and send me the findings

We were losing to pretty much the worst team in the ACC for 40 mins. He just had the spot light on him when he fucked up.

We have been playing bad our last 4 games. We are lucky to come away with only 1 L.

packbacker, I agree, something must be atrociously bad with his defense in practice, which is why I stated I'd like to watch a practice or two to see what the big deal is, but I'm certainly not denying that it's likely the case, but GG doesn't have offense and his D is nothing to write home about. I think some fans just want Fells to get the same shot to prove himself in a game that GG has received. The Clemson game was not enough to judge. I just hope Fells doesn't fall into the Scooter Sherrill trap.

Our whole team has been going down the shitter since the Seton Hall game. We've gotten progressively worse since.

Fells may score as much as grant could, but he would also allow his man too many points. Way too many.... you remember how horrible Ced was at defense his frosh year? Fells is probably worse.

Grants offense/defense combo is thrice and good as Fells right now. Fells has a tremendous amount of potential, but for now, he's got a lot to learn on the defensive side of the ball. There's a reason he's on the bench

^^ it's because a lot of the team now just watched cedric and expects him to do everything. They used to do it with hodge, too, and people used to blame hodge for being good.
