first off, i don't really know shit about cars.

my friend has a saleen mustang and is upgrading his stereo in his car. i have a 98 4Runner. would the mach360 system from his car fit into my stock stereo speaker units if i wanted to switch them out? i am talking about the 4 speakers in the doors, i have no tweeters (i know i'll have to get them installed)

you do not want to do this - you just think you do

i thought the mach system is far better than a stock stereo in the 4Runner...my stereo isn't the upgraded one with the SR5 or limited versions

are you paying for it - or just getting it for free?

best freind would give me the system for free

i'm sure i'd have to pay to get it installed, but would it theoretically fit in the speaker slots in the doors?

that is a terrible idea, just for reference.

Would it fit, perhaps? would it be worth it? not at all.

Each of those speakers is amplified, your vehicle is not.

if the speakers are better than my factory ones in my car, how can this be a bad idea?

I say if they fit, go for it. I mean, they're free. If they suck, then just replace them with the stocks again. If your 4runner has a base system the speakers are probably all made out of paper and take about 10watts harr

it just seems like more trouble than it's worth i remember my friend bragging about how much he loved his mach system then he got a real 500wsystem(mb quart all around w/alpine deck amp and subs). if it's free and you got some extra time on your hands go for it.

for a few bucks you could buy all new speakers from wal mart that would go right in your car and sound better than your friends old mach360 ones.
