I know many people dont care for the NBA, but i think this one promises to be a great duel.
The teams arent that good but this one really can be "Lebron v Kobe" becasue they will be guarding each other.
I dont know if any of you get ESPN the magazine, but inthe latest edition, Lebron talks about how much he idolizes Kobe and how Kobe is by far the best player in the NBA.
Needless to say it should be good.
Tonight on TNT @ 10:30 after the conclusion of Spurs v Pistons (rematch of Finals but unfortunately, even less people care about that great matchup). 1/12/2006 4:51:17 PM |

how do you figure they're gonna guard each other? damon jones is the SG, not lebron. unless they're gonna stick jones on lamar odom, i don't see that matchup happening 1/12/2006 4:55:29 PM |

I'm not big on the NBA anymore, but I do like watching LeBron. You never know when he is going to do something amazing or make some sick ass play. 1/12/2006 4:57:45 PM |

yes hell he will, with Larry Hughes out with a broken Hand, LeBron has moved to SG and Jones to PG.
Jones will guard Smush Parker and Kobe will guard Lebron.

I love Lebron James, but I've noticed this year that he really doesnt play much defense at all.
If he really does guard Kobe, then expect Kobe to drop close to 50.
Surely, Lebron will take it as a challenge and exert a little more effort, but still his defense is underwhelming to say the least right now.. 1/12/2006 6:25:05 PM |

kobe has been real hot this season. i have no doubt he'll drop at least 35, maybe in the 40s. 1/12/2006 6:26:35 PM |

kobe hasnt been playing much defense this season either.....he's more capable of playing D if he decides to though, and he might take a matchup with lebron as suitable motivation for trying 1/12/2006 7:11:41 PM |

the kobe to jordan comparisons have to stop
like steve just said, jordan did it by shooting 50% and making everyone around him better
kobe scores the same amount by taking 35 shots a game and struggling to make the playoffs 1/12/2006 11:56:26 PM |

that was an awesome game.
Too bad Kobe was a no show until the last 60 seconds.
Zydrunas was the star of that game.
I wanna punch someone in the face though. I had Lakers -2. I feel like I got rivered there by that rebound on the free throw... only way i lose is if he misses and htey rebound... geez 1/13/2006 1:21:09 AM |

are you saying that Lebron didnt get a good shot at the end???
That was 10 times better than any shot NC State has gotten off at the end of the game in the past decade.
Coaching in the NBA is more important than it gets credit for.... its all about pushing players buttons, piecing together effective lineups, getting players to create mismatches, etc 1/13/2006 1:41:47 AM |

Kobe not playing much defense..
The reason he stands out above T-Mac, Vince, Wade, Carmelo, Lebron etc... is his defense.
For someone to exert so much energy to score on one end, it's pretty awesome how he still has enough to go stop somebody on the other end.
When he becomes NBA 1st or 2nd team defense at the end of the season, I'll be sure to say "I told you so" 1/13/2006 5:09:48 PM |
